Actually, I have a great deal of sympathy for the Quaze, especially since he, at least, is trying. As an ex-rocker I can relate to how difficult it can be to do the same thing again and again and find the enthusiasm you had for it in the beginning.

I too think there´s way too much porn on the streets today. Too often i think anybody who does not drop a camera a soons as it is being unpacked thinks he is "Buttman" all of a sudden. I was just looking over some of the ZT covers and many of them look pretty good. Of course, as any porn fan knows, box covers can be very deceiving but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, not having seen any of your work.

At any rate, while I do think you should take the advice of people here on this forum seriously, keep in mind that we don't represent all fans....just the ones who have bothered to find this forum and give our imput. However, many times I've been frustrated and wished there was a way to give some constructive advice to the people who make porn so I guess I should milk it while I have a chance.

It just occurred to me yesterday that I can't stand DP and actually prefer one on one scenes. It always seems that all of the performers are distracted by the others in the scene when there's DP action going on. I'm sure my opinion on this might be a minority one. I've heard many porn fans say they love DP and want to see more. So I think niches are good. People can buy what they like. Sometimes, it seems like producers try to please everyone with every single video they make so they do a little bit of everything. Just when I see something I like and start really enjoying it, they suddenly switch to something completely different.

I mentioned kissing earlier. I see some kissing in some videos but again...there's not much of it. I would like to see more intimacy. Many, many videos seem very cold and sterile...to the point to where I will sometimes just skip entire scenes. On the bright side, this seems to be something that some producers are starting to get. I've seen some very nice stuff in the past few months. I do think it would help if the performers got to know one another before they do a scene together (I think someone else mentioned that).

I would like to see more "exploratory" sex. I'm a huge leg and ass fan. Would love to see the men take their time, exploring, kissing and fondling all the little nooks and crannies. Porn doesn't have to be all intercourse. Often, in reality, the foreplay is what gets you turned on and yet in many porn flicks, foreplay seems to almost be an afterthought. I would like to see things slowed down a bit with the guy taking his time, working slowly up to the main event. This would give the viewer more time to let his anticipation and desire grow, as in reality. I don't know about the other guys here but I don't sit down to watch porn with a boner already popped. They say God is in the details and a lot of porn I see goes way too fast to enjoy details. There's no reason why sex can't be passionate and intimate and yet raunchy and filthy at the same time.

Music - I've seen a lot of porn lately with a lot of loud rock music with guitars and so forth and I dunno...maybe some people like that but I find it distracting. Porn music (if there's any at all) should be more subdued. It should have an erotic quality to it that's relaxing, somewhat mysterious and most importantly, doesn't distract one from the main sound.

A lot of the girls still do the fake moaning. I can't think of mush of anything that can ruin a scene faster for me than that...especially if she isn't good at it. An example of someone who can pull it off is Sierra Sinn. She has very interesting vocal abilities to the point to where I don't care if it's fake or not (plus, she just turns me on).

Women are fundamentally different creatures from men. It generally takes them longer to get really turned on and they're not necessarily turned on by the same things as men are. I think more effort could be taken to find out what *really* does it for each particular actress. Every porn actress does a *much* better job when she's actually enjoying herself. I'm sure that's not always possible but it would be a nice goal to strive for.

Finally, I think the whole formula thing might be one of those things that allows porn to stagnate. Producers shouldn't be afraid to experiment a little and if it *really* doesn't work they can always fall back on a formula that they know works. Nothing is worse than seeing the same old stuff in one video after another (well, except for the stuff that really works).

I think if you go at it with the goal of creating the most organic erotica you can possibly make, you just can't go wrong. Look at it as if you were one of us out here buying porn. What would you want to see? I think too many producers and directors fall into the trap of not pursuing their own passion and simply making what sells. If you really have a passion for your work and put your heart and soul into each video, you will find a market....even if it takes you longer. Make what you'd want to see because chances are, you're not all that much different from all the rest of us. Sure, there are differences in what people like but there are some things that do the trick for just about every man alive. Every (straight) man *loves* women. Most *love* a good blowjob. Most of us like a little bit of mystery and tease to grab our attention. Most of us get off on eye contact. There isn't much chance of showing a part of an attractive woman's body that's going to be a turn off for most men. We all love great legs, nice tits, a nice smile, nice eyes and a great ass. Show these things in loving detail and it will be appreciated by almost every man who views your videos.

The camera should "drink" in the woman the way one might slowly inhale a breath of fresh air on a spring morning. We should be able to smell her, taste her as though we are actually there. Remember, we can't see what the camera doesn't so it's probably a good idea to always have extra camera people grabbing footage. You might find that one of the extra cameras catches the perfect angle you wouldn't have otherwise gotten. An angle that accentuates her curves will almost always be better than one that diminishes them. All men love the wonderful curves of a woman's body. You can't go wrong with that. Perspective also adds more dimension. DVD may have better resolution but it's still 2-D.

I hope I gave some useful input here. Again, may not apply to you but I'm sure other producers and directors will read this thread. The goal here is improving the entire industry so the product (and the payoff) is better for everyone involved.

Now I am so sick of it just because there is no story...no mood... no production values... and its context, once brilliant in its simplicity, has lost its freshness.

We too have been watching the Classics from the 70's and 80's and have noticed the stories and sex work which is not true with features today where the story makes no sense and interferes with the sex. Also directors frequently want to do clever things with special affects, black and white, and cuts that drive us nuts .... yukkk to features today!!! Remakes of Classics are also a joke .... they just don't have IT!!!

Q-man, don't think up any stories on our behalf .... just work on 5 good gonzo sex scenes with no interference by the director, minimal scripting, variety in the way the sex scenes evolve, actors who start with sexy clothes on and undressing is part of the tease, better faking or real female orgasms that seem tied to the pop shot, improved 2-way sexual communication, improved sex language/moaning (no profanity). Keep it simple and make it hot.

We are porn fans, not directors so we know what we want to see when we see it and each of us wants to see something a little different, but many of us find the same things erotic to watch. Professional atheletes of any kind are on their game one day and not as good the next. Think of yourself as the coach of a professional fucking team. Some coaches are better than others and get better performance from the players. The sets, clothing, makeup, choreography and set plays are all important, but we all want you to put the chemistry in there. A porn director not to be named who posts here said he/she just turns the camera and lets the people fuck. If that's all a director does, then they should not be called a director. There are directors and then there are "directors". Most of the people who call themselves directors today, could learn something by looking at videos of those directors who have gone before them. There are no new tricks or secrets that us porn fans can give you, but we can tell when somebody is just turning the camera on and when somebody knows how to be a "director".

I hope you can get excited about doing porn and become the best professional coach/director you can be and that when you do that it makes you happy with yourself and your work and I'm sure we will love your work as well.

We need more variety in porn ! I noticed that there are so many titles out there with different names that contain all the same sex. I have so many things in my mind that could be done and even lead to a complete new series.
You could say in some cases it's a gap in the market.
