I just received another batch of Triple Features dvds from ABA
AFAIK, the Seka #4 disc may be the worst set of the series. I was not expecting pristine quality from them, nevertheless i thought the idea of having "F" and "Ultra Flesh" on the same disc, at a nice price (plus, as usual, great cover art) was not a bad deal.
I think these are the worst transfers ever of these two films. I don't want to rewrite history, but the Excalibur discs were better, and i'm 99% sure i also saw gray boots in better shape.
It's as if Alpha Blue Archives had done their best to hunt down the WORST possible copy. I'm used to the varying quality of their product (from bad to average), but here they've reached a new height, so to speak. You've been warned.

I recently viewed two Alpha Blue Archives 'Collection' DVDs that were so poorly transfered that there were at least four places in the video stream in which the video player 'signaled' that it was having tracking problems (error message across the middle of the frame!).
That means that a technician was not monitoring the transfer or didn't care when it happened and that the final DVD master was not previewed before using it in the production run.
That must be a new low in the level of quality.
Alpha Blue Archives and GVC (with their giant watermarks on every frame) are on my don't buy/rent list regardless of the title.

ABA has bootleged films I and friends of mine own the rights to. That's reason enough for me to avoid them.
David Naylor, who "owns" ABA couldn't care less about the quality of his releases, as evidenced by an experience I had with him when I offered to provide him with superior material for a DVD than what he had already released...

unless i'll find screenshots online revealing a surprisingly "good-looking" disc here or there, their dvds are going to be deleted from my wish-lists from now on.
something escapes me: their releases appeal to only a small portion of porn consumers (+ possibly the exploitation/cult crowd), and there's no reason this audience should be less discerning than the average porno fan. Haven't they heard about cyber word of mouth, negative feedback spreading at internet speed?
