The concentration seemed to center upon CPU speed rather than overall compatability. I do want to emphasize that I am talking 8-10 years ago. | ShiWarrior Senior Member 1170 Posts 8/01 | Posted - May 30 2003 : 9:33AM If u are getting that P4, then i would NOT buy that graphics card. your system will be too bottle necked. i suggest a ATI Radeon 9700 PRO (or 9500) , becuase it carries DDR memory too and is 128Mb, this co-responds to your PC2700 RAM and works along side it really well. The Group of hardware that i listed in the earlier posting all comes Together fromX-Case.co.uk,It seemed like a good price just to get the pc up an running , but i would be up grading the graphic card at some point. At the moment i'm just looking around at various components , either i'll buy the comonents as a bundle or i'll buy them all seperatly at various times. [Link] |

| waterproof Member 452 Posts 5/03 | Posted - Jun 24 2003 : 1:28AM i would always choose intel cpu's since they don't generate this large amount of heat while running as amd does. intel supplies "boxed ware" (cpu + cooler bundle) which are perfectly designed to work together. maybe the amd's are slightly faster, but thats not an argument in my eyes. cheers, waterproof [Link] |
