Business is business.

So, for that one genre, I now go to Adult DVD Now, Adult DVD Explorer, Jaded Video, DVD Explorer (occasionally) and, very rarely, Xonair (buy from them at your own risk).

However , as far as mainstream films go, nearly all of my 500 non-adult DVD titles have been ordered from the parent company, DVD Empire. That outfit's service and reliability are impeccable. And I really appreciate receiving pre-ordered releases a day or two before streetdate.

I think lee_carver is on the right track. I would speculate that the amount of promotion a particular company's product receives at ADE is directly related to their relationship with said company. Or perhaps more importantly it depends on ADE relationship to a company's competitor.

I am quite sure that ADEs first commitment is to their bottom line, (just like almost every single other company in the free world) but despite the fact that they seem to make some odd choices and omissions in their promotional efforts, they are in my opinion one of, if not the finest online DVD retailer.

Back when I first found ADTs forum I raised some similar questions in what was a slightly controversial thread - Digitalplayground & Adult DVD Empire?

"FYI - just so you know, Adult DVD Empire has geared it site more towards the "Softer" crowd...i.e. Couples. VCA & Digital Playground are always top sellers for them. They stop selling the Gag Factor Series, and didn't even supply the Slap Happy dvds from Armageddon."

Are you sure about that? Last I saw Gag Factor 3 was on their top ten list. They do seem to promote plenty of gonzo titles as well as couples stuff.
