I like rough sex, domination, bondage scenarios, but the more established sites like Kink.com are way too heavy on the ropes and gadgetry. I find it all a bit over the top and distracting. Do you know any sites that offer that kind of stuff without the heavy machinery, in a more real world setting?

Not really. There aren't many people doing bondage and bondage related stuff in the first place. The ones who are doing it are either very successful or they barely keep their heads above water. The very successful ones, you'd have already heard of (and most of them do the apparatus thing). The others tend to be foreign and not much good.

^ I wonder why though. You would think there would be enough of a market for that kind of stuff, especially given that the top 2, 3 sites are practically clones of each other. I would think the fetishists would be more willing to dole out money for their kink than the run of the mill raincoater crowd.

^ Basically, it's risky to do it in the US under the current Justice Department and the tendency for litigation. Kink.com is pretty light and mild with most of their stuff and even they are running some risk. Insex was only slightly heavier (from what I know of them) and the risk was too rich for their blood.
All porn is a risk in a conservative society. When you get into fetishes, the risk can only go up.
