As a few titles are being released over the next few weeks I can foresee another large order being made so I'm thinking of using express shipping again. (i might even consider using that method for all future orders rather than the usual 2 dvd's a time) Does anyone else use this type of shipping method regulary and if so, which retailer do you use? (i'd obviously like to avoid customs and any potential hiccups!) Thanks for your response. Edited by - snowden porn on Apr 28 2003 [Link] |

| Mr.Jiggy New Member UK 1 Posts 4/03 | I have tried getting items sent from fivestar by global express letter, which means the dvd's and cover art are sent in an envelope minus the box. But both times I have had to go and pay duty plus handling to royal mail at the local sorting office, since they now won't take cash at the door apparently... The plus side to couriers is the speed and the fact that you are guarenteed to get the items, but you are also more or less guaranteed to pay customs unless you are under the limit. So it probably is a better idea to get a large order, that way you are at least paying less on shipping and handling fees. PS I once forgot to pay a customs charge to DHL, then was sent a reminder from a credit agency which I decided to ignore to see what would happen and nothing did... No follow up letters at all, though that might have been a fluke :) |

It also appears that anything involving UPS will be uneconomical. I am not criticising any dealers, some just choose not to be 'flexible' but every buyers interest is the 'screen offered' price. V |
