I have quite a large porn collection but unfortunately I don't really have anymore room for new editions. Consequently, I've decided to stop buying any new material. Any of you guys had the same problem?

No not yet but would sell something to make room maybe you should.
Yeah I have the same problem. The first thing I did was to get rid of all my VHS tapes to make room. Now all my DVD's are taking a lot of space so I transfer the artwork and disc of older DVD's to a plastic cover specially for DVD's in order to save space and I use the boxes again for new DVD's. I know some people throw away the artwork and only keep the disc but I would never do that because I need the artwork for my collection.

I started selling the porn I didn't care for anymore on Adultdvdmarketplace.com. When I have sold enough I use the money for new porn, but I try not to spend my own money on new porn. Besides, if you wait to buy then the price usually comes down or you find someone selling a used copy for half price or something.
Just curious. Do any of you guys who have huge porn collections ever actually watch most of it? Just wondering because I generally lose all interest in sex for at least 6 hours after I do my thing and there's no way I'd ever have time if I bought all the porn I'd ever seen instead of renting, getting maybe one good scene out of each rental and returning it. If I actually bought it, I'd probably never watch it again unless it was really, really good.
I don't, my DVDs have mostly been in binders since I moved from Jersey, and whatever I can't sell will probably remain in the binder pages somewhere in a dump.
But before I moved to binders, I had a wall of DVD boxcovers take up my room. If I kept all covers, I would need a big ass wall to put em all on. And even then, I would never watch 95% of them. I probably wouldn't mind it so much if I could actually watch some of the 500+ DVDs I currently own. But in reality, with new porn out everyday, better off renting and whacking and then return. Of all the DVDs I own, I have only gone back to watch like 20 titles at a later date. Once you seen it once, or at least with me, once I seen it once, it stays in my head. So I would rather just watch something new to replace the old footage in my head.

I recently threw away all the cases and just keep the discs and covers (in binders). Now that I'm trialing fivestarDVD.com theres no more cases and I've cut down purchases to must-haves only and no more bargains.
No. Luckily I am living in a very great house with a big cellar and an attic. I am not only collecting porn movies in all formats ( from VHS, Laser, DVD, Beta, V2000, 8mmm,etc.), but also the old video machines, most of them are very heavy and big. I try to collect some series completely, so I cant tear the collection apart. I only stopped to collect Playboy, because they produce too much ( a constant problem in the whole adult industry ), and only every 5th movie is still worth watching.
If I really wasn't very interested in something or didn't think I'd come back to it ever, I'll most likely sell it or give it away to someone. That goes for music, regular movies and books too, why hoard stuff you don't really want?
My regular DVDs are in a Boltz Rack that displays them nicely I think, but not my porn. I've considered going to binders, but like you, I like the covers and use them to find what I'm looking for on occasion. What binder system are you using that accomodates both the cover and the DVDs?
I've gone retro and started to rip my favorite scenes from my collection of DVD's and created my own "themed comps" for in-home viewing. My wife and I have several of these that we've watched repeatedly. But once I've ripped the content I want, I destroy the DVD as I don't want to keep them around....10 seconds in the microwave zaps them so no kids can dig them out of my trash or a landfill or whatever and re-watch them.
Any of the real ones I've kept are the feature-length ones like Pirates or something....can't really make use of those for comps. These go into binders that can hold 50 DVD's with the artwork per binder. The boxes get recycled.

If I run out of space, I'll by a new hard drive. As far as porn is concerned, on my part space is measured in gigabytes. Same goes for movies and other media, the only thing I still collect on disc is music.
If I were to transfer my DVD collection over to hard disk, I would need at least 4 TB (assuming single side/layer) of disk space. My entire collection would be somewhere around 15 TB.
Well, you could encode the DVDs into DivX, take up about 1.4 to 1.5GB average per DivX file, then split the scenes you like, and finally, save to DVD. a 4.7GB DVD+r can hold a lot of scenes, or at least 2 full movies, maybe 3. Depends on the bitrate you want to use. 1500kbps is a good quality since DivX works compression for quality. Blank DVD+r's are cheap enough now, and Divx DVD players are very affordable, in the $30 to $50 range.
If I was going to change compression formats I wouldn't burn them to disk, but more likely build a streaming server and have my collection closer to my fingertips.
