I'm getting rid of all of them, now that I've all dubbed them on DVD-R, but I can't seem to find the information online. Same question for CDs.

It is recyclable. Some places help you out with that. Hopefully knowing that CDs are polycarbonate plastics will help your local recycling center determine if they can recycle them or not. Unfortunately I didn't find out what specific type of plastic tapes are amde of.

Here is more information. There is some contact information on the bottom. If you do a Find on the page for VHS you will find a place in the UK that accepts VHS tapes. I guess Brussels is closer, but they

Thanks for the post, I should clean some old stuff up.

If they can't be recycled, I'd just take them to a range and blast them. Clean-up would be a bitch, but that's the price you pay. Not so easy to do that in France, I guess.

Yeah, when I started searching, I expected to find more places that simply said they took tapes or optical discs.
I actually left out stuff that was more complicated while saying less.
