I recently bought Jack's Teen America 10 from Digital Playground. I was extremely pleased to see an Anamorphic widescreen presentation with excellent picture quality and 5.1 sound on a Gonzo. I wish more studios would do DVD's like them. Anyone agree?

Yes. In my opinion Digital Playground is way ahead of nearly everyone else in the technical components. crisp picture and care with sound mastering, colors, etc.

still, theres actually a lot of bad shadows in Robby D's work- thats just because he always tries to avoid the flat lighting of the normal gonzo style.

Check out the Digital Playground movies from Celeste- the lighting in these movies is flawless. Artistically interpretated and arranged perfectly.

Also check out the newer works from Digital Sin/New Sensations directed by Tyrone Shuz. He's got a fantastic camera.... widescreen anamorphic and clear picture, better lighting than Robby D. Look for "digital clarity" on the backcover. Not all of his releases are top notch like that. I think the guy is sitting on lots of old footage that's why.

Picture Quality on Digital Playground DVD's is excellent.

However, DVD's extras on most Digital Playground DVD's are non-existant (with the exception of the huge releases like Pirates). Do we really need to see 43 trailers? How about a "behind the scenes" on the "everyday" releases?

I think DP has consistently had the best image quality since 1998 or so.

Having just watched a few DP DVDs this week, I definitely have to agree. They're showing a definite commitment to their technical aspects, and personally I think Wicked is suffering the most. While Wicked seems unable or unwilling to put their movies out with an anamorphic transfer, Digital Playground seems unable to put a movie out without an anamorphic transfer.
