We're dumb porn fans who won't respond to anything but over the top titles. We wouldn't know to buy that porn-o if it didn't have a sex act in the title. (I'm waiting for "Armpit Fuckers 12.") That's how we're viewed. It's like when I try to tell jokes to the person who takes my drive thru order at Jack in the Box and all I get is silence. They really don't know how to respond. They're unable to ad lib, or even voice an answer at all. They don't even say "Mr., I'll giggle if you tip me" or "You might want to keep your day job, but hey, while you're working on new material can I take your order?" These are the kinds of responses one would expect from a fully functional member of society who works in customer service. But I've reached the conclusion that Jack in the Box employees are too dumb to joke around with, which is sad because Jack's commercials are always so funny and inspire me to try out some gags on the staff, you know? Anyway, I think we're perceived as pretty dumb and fairly depraved and that's why we get such predictable, repetitive fare. They don't trust us to buy anything else. Also, many in the industry can't spell the stars' names right on the dvds, so perhaps we should scale back our expectations a little bit when it comes time for these people to "craft" a title.

We aren't running outof titles. Some people are just running out of creativity. I saw the box for Nacho Unleashed, and it was even simular to the SLayer cover. I don't know what came first, the chicken or the egg, but to take a line fron Jay and Silebt Bob Strike Back, "George Lucas Gonna Sue Somebody!"
I don't know why people are continually amazed to see Sturgeon's Law in action. I seriously doubt much creativity will go into the average box cover until we start going up to the store clerks and telling them we're not renting this movie because we hate the title, box cover design, font, raised graphics, whatever. Personally, I couldn't give a rat's ass (which is a good thing, seeing as how I don't have a rat's ass). OK, that's my two cents and I want change back.

it's becoming a database mess. i can't even begin to count how many titles i've fixed recently cause two different movies were listed under the same title.
I just noticed a new Vivid comp (out of 200 released today ) entitled One in the Pink One in the Stink , copying RLDs series. Since I don't believe titles can be copyrighted RLD probably has no recourse.
[aside] Of course if I wanted to name my movie "Raiders of the Lost Ark" I would have an immediate lawsuit from Paramount that I would have to spend thousands of dollars to defend; this is usually the tactic that keeps people from doing such. On the other hand, there have been mainstream movies entitled Bad Company released in 1972, 1980, 1984, 1986, 1992, 1993, and 2002(!) [/aside]
