If i'm not mistaken he is the key dude for popularizing gonzo, or was it Stagliano? His Pool Party was a revelation to me, and the stuff he did with Alisha Klass, with McKayla, mostly, is very dear to me—I'm sorry to hear that their breakup was so bitter. I think why I like his aesthetic is that I don't pick up a hate-fuck vibe from it: I don't see much high-fivin' frat-boy "dude, let's stand around and debase this chick," kind of stuff, or any of the anger towards and keen desire to humiliate women that bubbles up in lots and lots of movies I see. The talent seem to be enjoying themselves and are having fun: hey, movies where women are thrilled (or at least evince enthusiasm) at the prospect of sucking a cock after its been in another women's ass and share cum is kind of a Platonic ideal for me. I understand that some folks like to squirt to heavier stuff then I do, and that that stuff has a psychological component with a real charge—that selfsame just doesn't appeal to me, and I'm most often repulsed when a dude physically or verbally degrades a woman. When I went top my local adult video store, I was shocked at how overpriced his stuff was (at the time Jenna and Rocco also commanded top retailer dollar) and as a result, I never got into him until I started renting and also when I started buying on the secondhand market. Uh, some of the stuff is ok - there doesn't seem to be anything new or drastically different - either he has been copied or he was in the group that copied. Either way, it is less than original. Truth be told, I watch one of Cousin Stevie's DVD (the one with Sunny Lane) and found that to be different, unique and entertaining. I didn't need a kleenix, but not bad stuff. Perhaps like Robbie D., Seymore needs to focus on differing lines rather than the same sort of thing over and over and over. [Link]

I'll look at one of his movies occasionally now, and it's just random fucking in one room, the screen goes to black and says "20 Minutes Later" and then more random fucking in another room. That stuff was simply awesome and will always be among my favorite DVDs to choose from. I think it's hard to keep coming up with girls like Alisha and Mckayla. They were so refreshing to see during there rain. I totally agree with the origional poster about the fun loving feel of the movies. You get to see anal, gaping, a2ms etc. but you don't feel like the girl is in the corner crying after the scene. Now you have all these movies where the guys are slapping, choking, spitting on them. It's just plain repulsive and it always spoils a good scene to me. [Link]

Mari Possa and Flower (who was in a lot of his recent stuff) don't do anything for me. On the occasion lately when he's had girls I like (Samantha Ryan, Alexis Malone), they tend to be window dressing and not really involved in the hot stuff. His best stuff started with "Gluteus to the Maximus" (very, very good) and went through about the middle of the McKayla era, but he's always been spotty. One pic might be absolute crap followed by one that's godhead. I'll go back to checking out his stuff once he rotates in girls that appeal to me. On a side note, I once saw him at a restaurant in L.A. with Alisha Klass. I always thought she was hot, but she didn't top my list or anything from watching her tapes. IRL, though, she was absolutely stunning. Breathtaking. It flipped me out, especially having seen her be one of the nastiest girls in porn up to that point. From Shane through Alisha, almost every movie was fantastic from beginning to end. The scenes were long and had a real-life pace and feel at a time when only Buttman shot really long scenes. One thing about the three girlfriends -- Shane, Taylor Hayes, and Alisha -- was that they were all obviously crazy -- in a good way. He totally captured the feeling of dating a girl who is sexually incredible and gorgeous but who's flighty and difficult and unreliable and wacky. Watching those movies, you felt like you were in that situation but didn't have to deal with the craziness. Mari Possa is very pretty -- although why she got her tits done is a great mystery, even after watching that episode of Family Business -- and has a lovely personality, but she's the sane, responsible girlfriend appropriate to one's mid-30s. From the very beginning, though, Seymore has had a weakness for bad male performers. He was actually using Ron Jeremy through the 90s! One of the earliest Alisha/Samantha Stylle scenes was with the damn Hedgehog. And Herschel is his pal, the girls seem to like him, but he shot his first movies in 1975! In the middle period, he used Tom Byron and Sean Michaels and other men that women actually get excited by, and that had something to do with the quality. Some of his better movies have actually been in periods between girlfriend-stars. For example, American Tushy, with Missy and Taren Steele! Holy Cow! And some his first movies with Flower, before she became a squirting act. So maybe post-Mari he'll get back to some good porn. Or in the alternative, let's get his mom to hook him up with another genuinely crazy girlfriend! [Link]
