Dear forum,

Could someone recommend me "good" store which have the most complete of Private DVD released, sure with the good price.

Btw, are all Private imported from Europe or somewhere that
makes their price higher than others, as high as Interactive DVD :(

I never found their price lower than $24.95 :(
Most of their price are over $25.00.

Thank you.

Hi ookz,
The cheapest US retailer at the moment seems to be DVDExplorer, using their Valentines Day Voucher which is due to expire today. You get 15% off everything.

Just had my first order from them today with no problems and I will definately be using them again. They ship the disks complete with case and covers so I don't know if it suits you. I know you mentioned having Customs problems where you are.

Strangely on the package there is a US Customs Declaration form on the front (not showing the true value by the way ) but it had a French postmark. Can't figure out what's going on here.

As for European suppliers mentioned in previous threads, I have used DVDZone2 in Belgium once with no problems. They provide PAL version Private titles for EU customers.

I think all the Private disks are pressed in Spain but I could be wrong. They had a supply problem with NTSC versions last year and I think Faron of OVG (the US distributor for Private) mentioned Spain.

They are probably the most expensive titles due to the effort they put into making their disks. They are usually packed with extras etc. My experience of Private titles has shown that picture quality varies with the source material.
I was not impressed with the picture quality of Tatiana #1 but Uranus Experiment #1 and Call Girl were OK. They also have a habit of using a huge camera icon to indicate 'multi-angle'. Something thats been mentioned in previous threads and appears in Call Girl.

Hope all this helps.

Ookz: the largest selections of Private titles I´ve seen are on their own site private.com and about everything except for releases of current month are at DVD Go. DVDZone2 added Private to their selection last year, but unfortunately not their whole back-catalogue is available.
DVDZone2 ships outside EU also. Few advantages over the American vendors are:
1.Private titles are releaed in Europe first, DVDZone2 has titles up to three months before American shops.
2. Reasonable S&H, shipments containing only one DVD costs $3.20 to US or Indonesia.
3. European releases are with the better "PAL" resolution 72 hex 576 instead of 72 hex 480
4. Funniest of all: orders outside the EU are tax-free.%21 reduction to prices and voilà most Private titles are either $15.60 or $16.70!
Is the use of camera icon really a "habit", as there is only one title with this "feature" reported?
Private´s quality control on re-releases of their older titles is an issue. For me, more annoying than picture been shot on a cheapo Beta or VHS, is that the sound is from the orginal release. I´ve got few mid-nineties flicks with mono sound recorded on location and muzak dubbed on top as mono . That´s simply unacceptable for a DVD.

P.S Some of the entries in DVDZone2 site are in French, so if you can´t find a title just browse on (eg. "Forbidden desires" is "Desires interdits")

Thanks charlie, for the nice shopping tricks,
but, I'm still unlucky here, I could not make an account
at dvdexplorer.com :(( I've twice email them, but they are
too busy I think, short answer Yes, but they not tell me how to make an account with them :(

So, I prefer to buy Private from LasersEdge.com,
I found one with $24.95, but the average is $26.95,
It's ok for me, as long as they have VERY NICE shipping
rate to Indonesia using DHL, 1-5 DVDs for only $22.00
that's the cheapest DHL shipping for DVD I ever found on the 'net :))

Thank you absinthe,

Yes, I think DVDGo.com have most of Private DVD released,
nice place :)

Hmmm, their price is in Euro isn't it ? Please correct me if I'm wrong. And the good news is the "actual price" is the price listed divided by 1.16 :))

And the shipping rate is not bad, $20 for 1-3 DVDs,
I'm exploring this site. :)
