Ever notice how, in all the interviews of new and "new" porn girls, they always say they are waitresses, cosmetologists, students, dental and medical assistants, retail workers, etc.? Ever notice how they never say "dancer," "stripper," or something else we can't mention.
Oh, it occasionally pops up. I remember reading that Sarah Vandella used to work as a stripper on Long Island, and Emily Austin got her start as a dancer in Austin before marrying a bigwig in stripper chain. And Lilly Thai one time mentioned how she'd fucked every dancer in Austin.
But none of that ever comes out in the video interviews. Yeah, I know why: Guys want to fantasize about boinking a Hooters girl; they figure they can get it on with a stripper a lot more easily. And they are probably right.
But behold last week's GirlsDoPorn debutante, a 23-year-old in a yellow dress who first says she's a dancer and then, after a follow-up, admits it's the kind of dancer who takes her clothes off on stage. I like her honesty, and, because the admission is so rare, it actually enhanced the experience for me.
Now the part I can't believe is where she says she's been with only 10 guys. I know strippers for whom that's a good weekend or a bad week.

I never understood this strip club culture in America. You literally pay to have this girl dance in front of you or maybe lightly rub against you. How starved are American men?
^As an American man, I've wondered why strip clubs are such a big deal myself (a few buddies of mine can't stay out of them). In my experience, the average guy is more likely to sleep with a woman from a dive bar than one from a strip club, and you can see better looking women doing wilder things by just looking up porn. The strip club seems like literally the LEAST prudent way to see women sexualized, to me.
Apologies for the tangent. On topic, I suppose I'd appreciate it more to know if the majority of pornstars are former strippers. It doesn't add to or detract from my enjoyment, though, personally.
Well, how much fun you can have depends on what the local ordinances are, how strictly they are enforced, and how much management lets slide. Where I am from, without getting into things we can't talk about, let's just say you would be surprised at how much a popular dancer can make in a day in the right club.
There are a couple of reasons strip clubs are appealing. The site of naked bodies doesn't do much for me, but, when a dancer approaches you and strikes up a conversation, she's she could have selected any one of a hundred other guys in the club, but, at that moment, she chose you. Yeah, she wants to make some money, and yeah, she'll move on if she senses you're not going to spend any on her, but, for a guy who's been shut out at home for 20 years, that's a pretty powerful rush. Plus, if you want someone to talk to while you get lit, a pretty girl sticking her breasts in your face is better than some other loser on the stool next to you. :)
I'll bet that a greater percentage of the porn performers who enter at, say, 20 or older have been dancers than the 18- and 19-year-olds. But that's just speculation.

Thanks! Your post literally amplifies the fact that American men are starved. I too won't get into details, but go to europe or South America and see what the same amount of money gets you.
I guess my point is that, at least a few years ago, you's read in AVN or maybe online about some girl saying she was stripping in Pocatello when a porn star came in for a couple of days to feature. Said dancer had a few conversations with said porn star, and, before too long, she was on her way to LA to make videos. You don't hear those kind of stories much anymore -- and yet, somehow, I just know that at least half the hotties we see breaking into porn, or appearing as one-timers at GDP and BRCC, are probably dancers somewhere. Yet they never mention it.
