I feel we may be parsing words. There may be exceptions, but I would argue athletic performers look physically fit. They are visually in good shape with noticeable musculature.
I agree that does not necessarily mean muscular like a bodybuilder or "figure" competitor.
but athletes look like athletes..... even sex athletes!
An example that comes to mind was Gauge in her prime. A very athletic performer, famous for her agility, balance and handstand abilities
She would never win any IFBB contest. but you could see her body development from her gymnastics background.
A tiny girl, yet the strength in her legs was obvious. Her calf muscles were remarkable!
Personally, I was impressed by how Gauge was able to contort her tiny body to fit into a zipped suitcase. I saw two scenes where someone lifted a zipped suitcase onto a bed/table, unzipped it and out came Gauge. While short (4'11"), she had a figure, C cups and was not a stick like, for example, Piper Perri. She was all woman, though a bit on the shorter side. Just saying, it was impressive she was able to fit in a suitcase.

Completely agree on Gabbie. She actually has a very nice looking golf swing, and based on that swing she's athletic in my book (I'm a golfer). But what's frankly physically impressive about her swing, as I think of the shoulder turn, is the fact that she has to get her boobs out of the way. That's not easy.
