I'm sorry, I thought this thread was about directors salaries, if it is, in my experience at companies where you don't own part of the film, the salary per scene (average movie has 5 scenes) is anywhere from $500.00 to 800.00, (1,000.00 tops Im sure) and then if you do your own stills you may get an extra $300.00 for that. Photographers that do box cover shots charge from$300.00 to 700.00 (tht's been my experience) Hope that helps you more than getting side tracked by arguements etc.
I think for directors lucky enough to work with Evil or Jules Jordan, the payback can be lucrative ... but requires an incredible amount of hard work, actually obsessive work ... The problem is, those companies are the exception not the rule in porn, where all the REAL money flows to the man behind the curtain ... a lot of people you may think of as porn auteurs are really just hired guns, sometimes hired guns who make six figures a year, and sometimes hired guns who are happy to make $6,000 a month (which is what I make as a freelance writer, on a pretty decent month ... with none of the hassle a porn director goes through, though I certainly don't get bonus blowjobs ... or clamydia .. lol).
Still wondering why you say the Buttman Magazine Choice directors "pay for their own movies, and BM gets a distributor's fee just like Evil does with the EA lines", when the back covers of the DVDs says Evil Angel Video holds the copyright. Still wondering why you say "it says that on the cover of the main Evil Angel line too", when it clearly doesn't. Still wondering why you don't respond to my e-mails. Still wondering where my free Evil Angel DVD is.

Len 1- We were originally going to own their movies and give them a royalty per piece sold on the BM Mag Choice movies. Afterwards, that changed. 2- I made a mistake cause I was remembering how we filed them YEARS ago. 3- I've answered the ones I've received. 4- Somewhere between the US and your mailbox, it would seem. axl- wrong thread, and that's inside info, ;)
And what does it means that directors get royalties when the "DVD gets sold(per piece)"? Is it like when it gets sold to a porno store or to the porno store customer?
