Trouble is, although all my WMVs and MPEGs work okay, I'm having trouble with most of my AVI files. Some work okay, but most are not being recognised by the computer. The player itself has sound but doesn't show a picture, whereas all my other programs such as Ulead Video Studio and Magix Movie Edit Pro show error messages like this: "These files cannot be added to this project. These files may be of unknown file format" "No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection" None of the AVIs are being called AVIs by the computer anymore, even the ones that are working. Instead they're being called "Video Clips"???? I also noticed that Windows Media Player flashed up something about an error with codecs as it was attempting to start the clips. If it is a fault with codecs, can anyone help with finding the right codecs for the job? Thanks. :) Edited by - Mojo on Feb 8 2009 [Link] |

| Jordan1 Member Fishing, a fun hobby! 490 Posts 7/08 | Posted - Feb 20 2009 : 1:23AM That's why for quite some time now, I have both VLC and Media Player Classic Home Cinema with the same Codecs Pack that was recommended by RandomPrecision. To further elaborate on this post since yesterday, another reason I have both players is that on rare occasions Media Player Classic might not play a file and VLC will play it with no problems. In other words, they actually back each other up when one player might have trouble with a particular file. Only on a few occasions have I run into a file where either one won't play it.
