There are two reasons for my concerns: a) In the last few weeks, the AVN website has stopped showing gay porn-related stories. Enquiring minds wish to know the reason for the apparent sudden change. b) Several years ago, the AVN awards dropped the GayVN awards from the major ceremony. Enquiring minds wish to know if this was because AVN didn't wish to expose members of the straight porn industry to, shock horror, the sight of men kissing. [Link] |

Not everyday, but the gay industry is substationally smaller than the straight side. And this may sound strange, but gay studios don't need to hawk their products every few seconds. And new gay companies don't start everyday. The switch of the GayVN awards to a seperate venue was necessary. There is not enough time to award half the awards as it is now. Especially as more and more awards are added each year. I've been to the AVN awards, and thought they were a little long. I've never been to the GayVN Awards, but I haven't heard any complaints about it. As the gay industry grows in size (and it is) the coverage, awards, etc. will grow too. I think AVN does as much coverage on the gay industry as is warranted. [Link] |

As far as the GAYVN's go i believe they choose venue based on ticket sales, so if they sold 10,000 tickets theyd have to get a venue that size to support it. BTW2, see your pet object are homosexuals, could you do me a favour and also look at the threadbare neglection people born in Iceland with a 30% the black/white scale, BMI of 20, and hair-length between 5-6 cm. Since you are so altruistic, I am sure some other forum members also have some kind of people they feel are vastly underrepresented in the media and you also take special note of their pet interest group. There's no reason for the porn industry to conform its behavior to some notion, yours or anyone else's, of fairness, equality or responsibility (beyond what's required by the law, of course). In short, the fact that porn exerts an influence does not obligate it to exert a positive influence. And of course not everyone agrees on what sort of influence would be considered positive, but this thought doesn't seem to have occurred to you. [Link] |
