| Narcissus Deactivated User Love Thyself 418 Posts 1/08 | Posted - Jan 10 2008 : 9:10PM getting back to the topic at hand here. not that the nomination was a "scandal" as our good friend, Chester has pointed out. but wouldn't it be so so simple to just keep the nomination to the year of the DVD releases? who cares if those AVN writers don't "feel" that the girl has done enough or has done too much. let's make the contest at least fair. otherwise you have too much room for favors, kick backs and just plain ol subjective voting. now the fact that AVN Mag/Online doesn't know EVERYTHING that is going on in the mainstream adult biz, troubles me. especially since i've always believe them to be the AUTHORITY on ADULT VIDEO NEWS. for a writer to just become aware of Casey Parker recently is kinda silly. but really guys, just because girls come and go in the biz isn't really a good excuse to slip in some oldies but goodies into the Best New Starlet category. chrissakes, put her in the Performer Of The Year category. or 20 other categories that she probably could slide right into. let's keep the Best New Starlet, just that. oh, and not to defend either side on this issue, but would there be ANY girls in the biz at all without those horrible "suit case pimps." a term that's thrown around way too losely these days. i am not saying Chester is a saint, but without guys like Chet on the front lines to "ease" the new porn girls in... we all wouldn't be here having these silly discussions now, would we? This isn't one of them. When there aren't 100 companies putting out 3 titles per week over a 52 week year, which gives us the 10,000+ releases every year, then maybe it'll be easier to move back the date and put THAT aspect more in line with something like the Academy Awards. I just don't see this as anywhere near a priority problem for the awards show. There's so many other things that could be done. [Link] |
