I haven't reviewed as many features so those I'm not as sure on other than feeling Wicked and Vivid will get a lot of noms. The titles start to blur after reviewing so many, you remember scenes more than anything and often the title escapes you. I'd personally like to see Lesbian Tutors 6 and By Appointment Only 7 from Triangle films to get nominated for Best G/G-- they had so much great lesbian action in the way I love to see it shot and I'm just not sure if that's the type of lesbian porn that gets its just due, seems you have to use a lot of toys to get any recognition or be so heavy in the gonzo style of your g/g rather than the more sensual or erotic style that Triangle does so well-- but I'll hope! Unfortunately, her absence from the scene in the latter half of the year will likely kill her chances of winning. Still, I predict Eva will finally get the long-overdue FPOTY nomination. With Eva likely ruled out, I'm gonna go ahead and predict Jenna Haze. She made an absurd number of box covers this past year, and she always generates excitement whenever you see her name in a cast list. Jenna is in nearly every high profile release this year, and that's tough to overlook. If Eva is overdue for the nomination, Jenna Haze is definitely overdue for the award itself. But you can't count out Belladonna. She's practically AVN royalty, yet she's never won this honor. Hell, she hasn't even been nominated in this category for the past few years. Plus, a win here would be a pretty sweet capper to a year that saw Bella retire and make a comeback within a single week. Meanwhile, the real front runner in my mind, Adrenalynn, seems to have been all but forgotten and virtually ignored in this thread. But not by me. Shame on the rest of you. We'll see Abbey Brooks, Angelina Valentine, Carmen McCarthy, Cassandra Calogera, Hanna Hilton, Jessica Lynn, Kelly Divine, Kristina Rose, Lexi Belle, Priya Rai, Rachel Roxxx and Rachel Starr nominated in this category, too. But if Adrenalynn is upset by anyone, it'll be Phoenix Marie not Stoya.
Female Performer of the Year  Gianna Eva Angelina? Brianna Love? If anyone in this world is overdue for a Female Performer of the Year nomination, if not outright WIN, it's Gianna. I don't know how closely AVN's been paying attention but I think a surprise (as in, I'm surprised I'm saying this) nominee in this category will be Julia Ann. I agree we'll see perennial favorites like Jenna Haze, Rebeca Linares and Sasha Grey nominated once again but also Shyla Stylez and Belladonna and a few Best New Starlet nominees from last year like Alexis Texas, Audrey Bitoni and Bree Olson. Maybe we'll see Bobbi Starr and Dana DeArmond on the list, too, just to give it a false air of credibility.
Sometimes you get girls that debut on the cusp; in just enough time to be eligible for Best New Starlet but somehow also seem to have been around long enough to garner consideration for Female Performer of the Year, too (think Katrina Kraven in '04). That girl this year will be Claire Dames.  Claire Dames Make her my 15th pick for both (I listed 14 for each). Look for her to be nominated in both categories and she'll deserve both nominations even though she'll win neither (think Katrina Kraven in '04). Speaking of girls on the cusp, I'm not sure where wild card chicks like Emma Heart, Harmony, Hunter Bryce, Jayden James, Jessica Lynn, Mariah Milano, Ricki White and Shawna Lenee will end up but they all deserve to be nominated for something. Sasha and Bree were on the cover of so many videos, that I completely predicted those two awards. Just check out your local new/recent release wall and see whose been popping up the most. It's hard to call because they don't always follow a correct timeline. For starlet, I'd say Ashlynn Brooke, Alexis Texas, or maybe even Rebecca Linares (crossing over into the whole timeline thing) and for Performer I'd say Brianna Love, Jenna Haze, or Annette Schwarz, as these chicks seem to take up a good percentage of the box-covers. Since Lexi Belle wasn't nominated for the 2008 awards (when she was actually a newcomer), she'll probably get nominated for 2009. I'd love to see Gianna get nominated for FPOTY, but I don't think she deserves to win. While there doesn't appear to be any actual written rules for FPOTY criteria, I do believe the winner should have a wide range of work that year. I'd like to see a little acting in features from the FPOTY. Drama, spoof comedy, doesn't matter. Gianna's great, no doubt, but her 100% gonzo work sorta blends together in hindsight.
