The various discussions here about our nominations (starlet, female performer, female foreign performer) are fascinating, but I need to point a few things out. Those wondering about where the contract girl noms are should see our new category, Crossover Star of the Year. Someone else was aghast that we didn't nom Sandra Romain for Female Foreign Performer of the Year. That's cause we nommed her simply for Female Performer of the Year since she did all her work over the past year here. And we didn't "forget" anyone - we carefully considered all the names mentioned on these threads and made our decisions, whether people agree with them or not. Yes, we realize that some performers who have worked very hard over the past year and are popular among the fans didn't get nommed. This doesn't mean we don't appreciate and value their work. Pragmatically, there are only so many noms in any one category. So congrats to all the nominees. A complete list of the nominations can be found at avn.com and avnawards.com.
Thanks Mike Ramone for your very diplomatic response to all those who feel Tiana Lynn and Katja Kassin were unfairly overlooked this year.
I still just cannot see how it happened. In July, myself and fellow reviewer Bono-ONE, a guy I never agree with, both posted our Mid-Year Top 20 Performer lists and we BOTH had Katja and Tiana in our TOP FIVE (1 & 2, respectively for me, 3 & 4 for Bono, who had Ariana Jollee and Sandra Romain as his top two). I think most fans here (and no it's not just an ADT thing) and elsewhere for the most part are inclined to agree.
Just out of the people that ended up being eventual real nominees, I picked 7 out of AVN's final field of 15 and Bono picked 6 successfully (and that's only because we didn't seperate the newbies from the vets). So I think we're far from biased or influenced by the fans here at AdultDVDTalk. Right is right. And Katja and Tiana deserved Female Performer of the Year nominations. Period.

Appreciate the response Mike. I guess we can agree to disagree on Tiana. My only question on the contract girl thing is then just because they are nominated in this new crossover category does this mean then that they are exccluded from being perfomer of the year? That's the way it came across. I'm sure if those contract girls nominated in crossover had their druthers either to be nominated in a new category OR performer of the year they'd choose the latter everytime. after reading, contributing and analysing the conversations we have had over the last few months here on ADT, Katja seemed to be the front runner for Performer of the Year. To not even be nominated is unjustifiable?>! What has any of the girls mentioned in AVN's list achieved that Katja has not? You are in our hearts Katja.
If I may be so bold as to suggest starting a petition to send to the fine folks @ AVN to include Katja in voting for this year's Performer of The Year. We will have a HUGE response and show them that the fans are speaking!
Well doing tranny videos is certainly stretching yourself and that's not my cup of tea so to speak to see AJ in action. What sets her apart for me and I'm being honest here as with other girls too is her passion for what she does. Ariana does this, Melissa, Katja, Hillary, Taryn-- these young ladies and there are more really seem up for the challenge each and every time I see them so am I pulling for AJ you bet but there are other girls there too who deserve it such as Jasmine, Sandra. I'm really pleased that so many women I love watching made the cut this year, Katja and Tiana, of course, being omissions I'm sad about.
I doubt she would want to be nominated by this gang if it has to be under pressure from the fans. Should anyone from or via this board could set-up a sort of 'ADT-Oscar' for her (a golden statuette with Katja's body, yum!), I'll donate though.
I know its sounding like a broken record by now, but someone completely dropped the ball here....Katja not nominated? Personally I don't see how that's even possible. Marie, I feel you also...would have love to see you nominated for best new starlet. But, in lieu of this epic debacle, 3 of my favorites are nominated...Melissa Lauren, Flower Tucci, and Lauren Phoenix. So, I would be happy to see one of those 3 ladies take home the award.
Um, Hello! Why in the world wasn't Penny Flame nominated in this category? She certainly at least deserves the nomination, if not the win. I'm not mentioning names, but some of them are nowhere near being in her league.

Penny will get Best Actress for Darkside. That's what I think.
I know this has been said a bunch, but you guys are the best!
I thank you so much for showing your support I have three noms, in the sex categories,(one being the three girl scene with Danni Woodward and Sammie Rhodes in Supersquirt 2), so I was definitely not overlooked, I think that is one of the best all girl scenes I have ever done!
As for performer of the year, I am EXTREMELY happy that Flower is getting the recognition she truly deserves.Having been her neighbor for the past year, I definately know how hard she works to keep you guys hard!
That was a great scene and I could never get tired of you and Sammie working together, how about getting Tiffany Rayne in a scene too, I think you could have a lot of fun with that young girl!
I as soon as finished watching the Tiana, Dani, and Sammie scene in Supersquirt 2...I immediately thought, "Wow, that's gonna get an AVN nomination for sure!!" It was uncanny...why would I think about the AVN awards right then I don't know...I guess the scene was just that good.
Anyways, cumgrats Tiana...but yeah you should've got more noms imo.

It's a damn shame you never came over to "get some sugar" when I've been at your neighbor's place.
I'm still shocked that Tiana Lynn (absolutely love you!) and Katja Kassin (you're one of the very best!) didn't get nominated in this category.
Of course, I'm pulling for my favorite -- Melissa Lauren. Of the many who do deserve the honor, I think she does as she continues to give a ton of great and varied performances.
JUUUUUUUST for your scene in "I Can't Believe I Took The Whole Thing"(w/ Shane Diesel) would make you VEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERY tough to compete w/....

My Personal choice of course wud be SUZI SUZUKI...she deserves a Lifetime Achievement Award for her tremendous contribution to the advancement of Porn across global frontiers but I'd get shouted down as being biased but there is no denying that when it comes to anal of dp Suzi is smooth as butter absolutely effortless and flowing with the scene.She enjoys the deep penetrations as much as she enjoys going down on a guy or gal or doing 69.Sad she is doing soo very little herself eversince she turned a producer.
