Anyone who has ever released a movie or an album knows better. It's about TIMELINESS. Things age, become dated and become less relevant, moreso nowadays more than ever with cynical, jaded and fickle fans moving on to the next trend, style, sound or in this case, porn star, sooner than before and quickly lose interest. That's why you have to release a project like this when a star is at the height of their popularity not when their momentum has had ample opportunity to lose steam. Saying "it's done when it's done" isn't going to help this disc move more pieces when the porn world has already chosen it's next "it" girl and the sales suffer as a result. In all seriousness, I hardly think that Sasha has hit her peak, and with Belladonna co-hosting the AVN Awards and starring in Pirates 2, I don't think her fanbase is going to shrink over the next year. Though it was a cute play-on-words and playful attempt at light humor about a slightly embarassing situation. But then again, anyone else fortunate enough to be sitting on such a hot project probably would've made some sort of effort to ensure it got released by now. I understand things get pushed back in all fields of entertainment some times and you can't put a gun to an artist's head but damn, you can't deny that what I say above about timeliness (which has ZIP to do with popularity or anyone's fanbase) is any less true. I definitely stand by that and I believe this movie would've been better served by being released around the time when Sasha was making her march towards being Female Performer of the Year instead of nearly a year (or MORE) after the fact, regardless of how popular she or Belldonna remain or whether or not her buddies think she's hit her peak yet. At some point, it's just not going to be interesting anymore. No matter how good it is. If I'd heard of the original iPod when it came out, saw commercials for it, all that jazz, but then never actually seen one until today... well, with all the other great mp3 players that have come out since, it really wouldn't be all that interesting to me at all. Sasha has performed many, many times since then (ostensibly getting better all the time), and Bella has directed many, many times since then (again, ostensibly getting better all the time) - so how good can this movie be in comparison to many of their other flicks that we've seen that have been made more recently than this one? The original iPod was fucking mind-blowing when it came out, and it will stand the test of time in terms of great audio innovations. But it ain't shit when you're holding an iPod Touch in your hands. I ended up renting the 2nd one but have never bothered to watch the 3rd, and have gradually lost interest. TAOSG is in the same boat. I put movies on my informal wish list. The longer they sit there, the further they get pushed to the bottom as I add more and more things to the top until eventually I just lose interest, anticipation, and no longer care to send my money that direction.
