Excellent point, I seldom view Bangbros lately, their products have gone downhill. I used to be a big fan of Pink Visual but they are cranking out so much utter crap I find myself disgusted. Yesterday I viewed Teens for Cash #21 and not a single girl was a Teen!!!! A couple in their late 20s to be more accurate. It pissed me off. To be fair, I would not call out just Bangbros, there are a lot of studios where the directors are not doing a good job. I would guess the studios are putting their attention solely into recruiting the girls and the guys are used if they are simply dependable to show up on the set. That is why we see the same guys recycled to adnauseam. The quality is not there.

Dave Cummings, an adult performer and director wrote a lengthy piece recently about becoming a porn star. If you go to the Porn star member forum and click on his name it will appear near the top of his posts. He explained it well. It is not a shortage of willing guys to perform. It is rather a reluctance on the part of directors to give them a chance. Many newbie guys disappoint and it is costly to the production budget when they do not measure up. So, we keep seeing the same tiresome guys to no end.
So why don't they ask these willing guys if they're willing to do their first five scenes or so for a very small fee as a trial run and if they don't measure up they haven't wasted a bunch of money paying guys who can't perform? At the same time, they've given these guys a chance to do what many guys dream of doing. They haven't really lost anything because the guys they're using aren't performing well anyway and they're presumably paying them whatever the going rate is for male performers. If the guys they give a shot to don't perform well, they couldn't be much worse. Customers are going to complain one way or another but at least they have a chance of finding new talent. It is not just the guys in front of the camera, it is the ones behind as well who are lacking these days. Lately, the camera man never seems to get any good clothed tease shots before the action starts. The girl is rushed into the action and undressed too quick in my opinion, so we hardly get any build up or to see how the girls look in their hot outfits. It is a shame because they have some great girls that are wasted with poor direction and bored looking male talent. Would be nice if the site had a refresh overall.

Random Precision & Daron, Your points make sense. The directors just don't seem to care. Have you taken a look at all the garbage porn cranked out these days? I don't think most companies care about quality, they care about quantity, meeting a budget, and distributing their product. There is nothing wrong with the female talent, they just don't use them well. I see a lot of bored looking guys and girls today. If you think about it, this is not a problem just with the adult industry but in most work environments. You do the same task repeatedly, it becomes monotonous, lackluster and the enthusiasm drops off. This is why I prefer amateurs over seasoned porn stars. How much would you like it if a director is barking out instructions to you when you are naked? I would have a problem getting into it, most guys and girls would too.
This is the biggest problem, and largely overlooked IMO. Sure, some performers may be bored or tired or ready for retirement, but most of the performances are at least average or better. There will always be variety and variation. but if the cameramen/directors/editors are in a rut, and have no inspiration, and are out of touch with what viewers want, then they can and will ruin everything they touch. Thousands of different girls, different scenes, different pairings, different genres, different themes, original ideas....none of it matters when it's all processed by the same small group of gatekeepers who touch everything, and have the power to ruin it.

A lot of the directors started out fresh and interesting, but have become stale and repetitive, with no attempt to throw some different elements in the mix that the fans would want. As a porn fan, I can only take so much of girls getting fucked in mansions, or by the pool. That's fake and unrealistic to me. Let's see the girls in real situations, fucking in creative ways. The gatekeepers of porn have such a privileged position, but they keep getting in wrong again and again.

It's got little to do with the guys and everything to do with the fact that they don't really know how to make good porn. Bangbros is the McDonalds of porn. They churn out a lot of product. That product may meet some base need I guess, but I can't say there's any real enjoyment nor passion for it and it leaves a bad aftertaste. Bangbros and RealityKings and Brazzers and most of those types of pron networks compete on the same level as McDonalds et al. It's a shame because there are some truly beautiful women that work for them. But these places very rarely do anything interesting. Their scenes mostly lack any eroticism. It's all about the mechanics... but they're poor camera work don't really do a good job of showing off those mechanics regardless! It's astonishing really. But the complete lack of passion and eros is why those places are boring. There is rarely any kissing, rarely any mutual touching, rarely any sense of intimacy nor chemistry. And they focus way too much on the guys, spending time talking to these guys who have nothing interesting to say or who act like douches. But then again 99% of their scenes have the guys jerking themselves off over a woman kneeling before them. I guess I'm just not the audience for scenes with guys jerking themselves off. And then there is the misogyny in many of their scenes and themes. I have a feeling they would be way more successful if they were simply honest and started making porn for another audience. I agree these studios are putting out a bad product. As you touched upon, there is zero erotic feel to it. At times it feels like I am watching robots having sex. After you watch one scene from these studios, it is as if you've seen them all. They are too predictable, have no creativity and the sex is flat. In your comparison to McDonalds, it is true, they have consistency, regardless of the title, the sex is almost always lackluster.
I was with you until you took a sharp turn and ended up here. I see this so often and I'm really tired of it. This is not the problem with Bang Bros type porn. There are those who are happy with "fast food" type porn But you shouldn't confuse those people with people who like bukkake and other types of the more edgy stuff. It comes back to not judging a book by it's cover (to use an awful but accurate cliche). Mike Adriano's scenes are redundant but i like his style, but they need to fire Joey Ray because.... 1.
