I wanted to be able to download, so I got a yearly subscription to BangBros in April. I hadn't had any problems until the other day, when I got a message saying I had reached my daily download limit. This happened after 3 downloads.
I called customer support, and they said the webmaster changed the site and installed a 3-download-a-day limit. I didn't sign up for this, and don't know what to do. Should I attempt to get some kind of refund, or am I stuck with what I have? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
^ There was a recent change to limit the number of downloads per 24 hours similar to what some other sites do. Although people have complained about limits in downloading since 2021.
The only options you have it seems is to harangue customer/billing support or, depending how you paid, dispute the charge with your bank, although after all this time that's going to be difficult. It is perhaps an issue of caveat emptor/buyer beware, though I won't dispute that these sites aren't up front about a download limit. I recently subscribed to Reality Kings which also had a 3 download limit but DID NOT state that anywhere that I could find. I was aware of a limit, so it wasn't too bad in my case.

^ and ^^ I'll never like download limits but I can accept them if the site does two things. First, the limit needs to be reasonable. I don't think that three downloads per day on a site like BB is reasonable. Same with the 25-scene weekly limit at Vixen Media Group. The second thing is that the site needs to be upfront about the limit. I find some sites rely on lack of information while others outright lie. I write site reviews and a couple of years ago I was assigned to review a series of sites and all of them promised no download limits but then when you were behind the paywall, there were download limits, and relatively low ones.
I know some like to beat up on Gamma, but even their critics must admit that they are transparent about downloads. There is no mystery about what they are offering. There is no way I can choose a lower cost option and expect downloads when it says it is streaming only.
I don't understand the economics of adult sites, but for big sites like Bang Bros and VMC, why not follow the Gamma model? I'm okay paying more for downloads. I do it every time I join a Gamma site. I used to do it when I joined a Team Skeet site, but I've read here that they no longer offer any downloads now.
This probably isn't the place to ask this question since many of us here are more collectors than casual viewers, but has the market shifted so much that most subscribers don't care about downloading?
As a collector, I'm always on the hunt for new models, sites, and even genres. But as a collector, I want to download the scenes. I suspect that at some point I'll need to give up hunting for new stuff and just enjoy what I have. But for me, it's that hunting and collecting that is the best part of this weird hobby we all share.
Thanks for your input as one experienced at this. At the time of signing up I'd also like to know WHAT type of restriction, number, or files-size. Though I think most limits are a count-Porn Site reviews are often a good way to also be informed about a restriction. They'll often state: "Limited Downloads" (not every porn site has been recently reviewed, so we're looking at information from 4,5, 6 years ago.I believe that is very much the case, when I asked about the best sites to join responders pretty much said join Adult Empire or AEBN to stream to my heart's (or whatever) content, though the two are pay-through-the-nose-to-download tyrants. (or otherwise Adult Time as a mega Netflix-esque provider, but it may not have the content that you want, so it's option just to get your porn fix.) The download limits or paying extra on top of the subscription fee mean that I am loath to join a site, such as Sweetheart Video, which is counter-productive if they want to attract as many patrons as possible-I guess they aren't.

Yeah Brazzers owns both BB and RK and it's quite ridiculous if you're someone like me who has subscriptions to all of them because the limit applies to the whole network of sites. 3 downloads every 24h barely covers just getting their new scenes; forget trying to actually download their backlog with the service you actually paid for.
Good grief! That's utterly and outrageously stingy. The small-print not printed. How many multi-site networks are there? How many would have such an across the board limit (Adult Mobile? VMG?). 3 divided by site (or category) is a tiny, tiny number. It could be a lazy IT/technical single-sign-on no-idea-what-site-you're-on and we're not going to bother 'cause stream-it-all sucker never mind the resolution/quality of our stream!

I read that RealityKings downgraded the quality of their older scenes. Since it's the same Network as Brazzers and Bangbros, did they do they same? If so, how many years back do they downgrade scenes? Like everything before let's say 2025?
^ Practically every scene I looked at (to download) was 1080p. The latest scene I can be sure of that is from 2019-08-02, a date when most other studios were well an truly offering 2160p. I can't remember whether the 2020-04-17 scene was 1080p, but I'm almost certain that it was. In another rather nasty tactic, going to the site now (without membership/a subscription) and looking at WLT scenes on RK they neither show a date anywhere, nor do they indicate a resolution. Going to other site(s) which wholly allow downloads, in a similar manner DOES show both a date and a quality (well, at least when it's 2160p, we'd have to assume 1080p when that's not stated). Sweetheart Video at least shows a date, but no resolution, but then downloading on that site is restricted. Any MetArt Films network site shows the quality (2160 [4k]; 1080p [Full HD]; and in a round about way other resolutions 720p, 480p, etc), though the issue with that network is that nowhere does it indicate (or I missed the statement) that it doesn't stream in full resolution. Vixen and VMG networks shows date and then resolution once going into a scene (looks like they give the member an option in quality)

^ Sorry, I can't say for certain. I was talking about specific GG scenes from September 2012 to August 2019 or Apr 2020. I was surprised when the release dates I thought they should have moved on to offer 2160p weren't. It possibly also means they're not bothering going back (or can't) to the original recording to recode into 2160p. If you have a subscription/membership the videos will each show the resolution, it is mentioned in the thumbnail image (in large silver bold: 1080 Full HD). I can't speak to what you mention. Video bit rates for some 53 1080p videos I have go from 4.47 to 9.99 MB/s (avg. 5.77; median: 5.60) Alas I did not find a 2160p video in all the releases I went through.
^ I no longer have a subscription and without access the site won't tell people what resolution or quality or size or release date the scenes are from. That doesn't make any sense unless they're intent on obscuring that information, although video thumbs of scenes of a certain age have "HD" at the bottom right (page 149 when ordered by date, no dates shown). Who knows about quality when it doesn't show that on more recent scenes.
I really got tired of their terrible filtering (e.g. "Lesbian" category includes BGG and multiples there of), the awful pushy and crass advertising, the poor in browser player, the huge drop in GG output and quality (watching a couple then judging by ordering views and/or viewer ratings - not good methods, but it does imply a downturn)
The porn site review websites don't help. The two latest reviews (May 2025 and June 2026) say that thousands of videos are available in 1080p and state that RK will start 2160p soon. That doesn't give a single iota of clarity: "start soon" when? Have they started? One site also mentions the studio mislabels 480p scenes as 1080p (HD). It is strange because reviews for other sites will state scenes available in 4K, e.g. Brazzers "Thousands of videos stream in Full HD, and over 2,600 are available in 4K." [reviewed Jul 4, 2026], or; Viv Thomas (another studio which has been around for years): "Most of the streams and downloads are Full HD, and 1,100 are 4K quality" [reviewed Mar 25, 2026], but; Adult Mobile says "a large library of 5825 Full HD videos [for streaming only]"
