I haven't seen the flick in question, but I'm just wondering what did you like about it? What scenes stick out in your mind after viewing the film? What subject(s) did the film tackle that you have/haven't seen in other films? And if the film tackles subjects you have seen in other films, how are they (these issues) presented in this said film different from your experiences with previous films? How were race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and/or socio-economic class differences presented in the film? Or does the emotion of love operate as the ultimate equalizer that tears down all barriers in this film? Have you looked more into the artistic works of said bio-pic hero/heroine? If so, which have you enjoyed and/or which do you recommend?

Not trying to troll you, I have seen Julian Schnabel's film [invalid URL removed]Basquiat, (which is very good btw) and have also checked out Scorsese's short "Life Lessons" from [invalid URL removed]New York Stories, (which is an excellent satire of the NYC art world), guess I'm just curious about your impressions of the film as well as your thoughts/comments about how artists, their creation process, and their (said artists) relationships with others are represented in film.

Best,

Kierkegaard.

Please see this film. It is brilliant in so many ways. The story of an openly gay man in Cuba during Castro's revolution speaks for itself. See IMDb.com for more info. Let me know what you think.

I've been trying to track this down forever (I'm deeply addicted to virtually anything associated with Cuba) and I have to say I was very impressed. Not sure I agree completely with the political point of view but very, very well done for what it was.
