Missy Manners (the star of Behind The Green Door 2) worked for
Orin Hatch, the Senator of Utah. Missy did the video as a protest against the Meese Commisssion. Missy wanted it to be known that not all Republicans are against porn. There is an article about Missy in Playboy's January of 1987 issue. In the
article, Missy said that there "were some wild women working for the Republican National Committee." According to Missy, an
orgy took place that she didn't participate in. Missy didn't show her wild side when she was part of Hatch's staff. For a
period of time, Missy was a girlfriend of Artie Mitchell.

It’s very different – make that quasi-bizarre. Green Door was a serious attempt to shock the audience (and they were shocked back then). The sequel is much lighter. Full of one liners and difficult to follow at times. It is, to an extent, an attempt to persuade people to engage in safe sex. The major impetus being aids. If you watch it and pay close attention, you’ll see a homosexual act being performed – or at least acted out. This happens during other of shots of a sex club where the performers and audience engage in a wide range of sexual activity and fetishes from the mythical (satyr and damsel) to sex with large women.

Maybe the best way to describe it is an art film about a sex club and its patrons with a very strong didactic undercurrent concerning STDs.

I liked it.

A lot.

I'd agree that while the first one is the classic, the second one is more of an attempt at humor and some light-hearted sex. Missy Manners is certainly no Marilyn Chambers, but she looked more than sexy enough. Also, be careful about lumping conservatives and Republicans together. There are many moderates in the Republican party, especially now I'd say with the ultraconservative movement alienating even regular conservatives.

As we ended up with two threads on this topic over time, I'm going to lock this one and discussion can continue here.
