I got this camera off of ebay for a great price, but the lens it came with is quite awful. It's a Bower Wide Angle, it's really heavy and it seems like it's really succeptible to camera shakes.(even when steady is on/off)

Or I might be a recovering heroin addict with tourettes, shingles and parkinsons.

Anywho, since I know this is a widely used camcorder in the porn industry I want to what Lenses some of the directors use or have used? I've been looking at the century optics 0.6x and the Canon WD-58, but don't know how well they perform.

I'm looking for something a bit smaller than the gigantore Bower one that I have now.

I'm assuming I should stick with a wide angle for shooting porn, so that I can fit everything into my shots alot easier. Then again I could be wrong?!

Thanks for responding :D

I've searched and read some of the previous topics about the wide angle and how it gives a really disproportionate/distorted close up view of the action.

I'm still confused about what lens to use then. I'm assuming tele-photo is much too large and macro is not necessary since I won't be zooming into the talent's pores.

Any suggestions?

I honestly can't figure out what you're asking.

The VX2000 has a fixed lens, probably a 1:12 zoom with a roughly equivelent angle of view of a 35mm ~ 450mm lens on a 35mm still camera.

If you can't hold steady with the Bower wide-angle adapter, it's not the lens or the camera. Wide angle of view lenses and adaptors like the Bower minimize camera shake, which is why they are so popular with pornographers who have to do loooooong, unbroken shots, without the benefit of the a steadicam rig.

Maybe try laying off the crystal meth? That always gives me the jitters.

Gotcha..I'm just going to stick with it and figure out the most comfortable way for me to handle the camera.

Maybe I'll try a DIY steady handle and see how that works..I've seen a couple interesting ones on DVXuser and skateperception.com

anywhose, thanks
