For a low priced, decent quality TV, I'd go with a Vizio. For something right around the same size that you currently have you can get a 24" HD Vizio for $200 or a 26" model for $230 (at Wal-Mart or Costco). If you're open to buying a refurbished unit (which should be perfectly fine), you can get a 19" Vizio for as little as $110 up to $200 for a 32" model (at Wal-Mart).
I've had a 24" Vizio in my guest room (where I watch it whenever I'm on my treadmill or stationary bike) for about 5 or 6 years now. I have no complaints.
I would have no qualms about getting a refurbished TV. They are TV's that didn't work properly, out of the box, and were returned and repaired. Essentially, they are new TV's that have been tested to guarantee that they work.
