Some research that is very likely funded by some rather shady characters, who no doubt have some reason for wanting such research done. The very fact that such research is done is sufficient evidence to me that whatever it's results are, they should be taken with a very healthy dose of skepticism.
Has any similar "research" made a link between Nascar and mental health? Football and mental health? Reading the newspaper a lot and mental health? How......interesting that it goes straight to porn. Maybe someone needs to see if there's a link between trying to prove porn consumers are crazy and actually being a bit.......mental yourself? Eh?
I'm certainly not advocating bestiality. It's one of the few things I think are just plain wrong. Most people who watch a lot of ordinary porn aren't hurting anyone and they don't need anyone's help unless they actually want it.

I don't believe in such research, everyone that doesn't fully conform to socities official norms and moral standard is probably considered less mentally stable than the rest.
My point is that telling someone to 'get help' doesn't mean very much. If you get turned on by looking at huge anal gapes... how normal is that... really? Or how normal should it be?
I think that if bestiality porn wasn't considered 'sick' by so many, some other people wouldn't find it as arousing. That it is wrong and sick and fucked up makes it only better for some.

#1 Actually you will enjoy the rather large list in where it is legal. I'm compiling this list and will post it soon.
#2 Just because its "illegal" doesn't always mean it's wrong. Smoking marijuana in many countries is "illegal" but does that mean its wrong to smoke marijuana?
#3 Nobody has actually addressed the issues: That apparently you tell me I "need help". I will again ask who do I get help from?
Psychologist's use what is known as the DSM-IV to diagnose people with mental disorders. The DSM-IV says zoophilia/bestiality is NOT a mental disorder. People from all walks of life have sexual relations with their horse or dog that they love. Mean people, happy people, rich people, poor people, every people.
Also I know I'm better off than a lot of people in the world:
1. Fluent speaker of English, Spanish, and Japora 2. Attend's an Ivy League school for computer science & foriegn languages 3. Has a girlfriend who goes to the same school 4. Has a well paying job as an ER-translator for doctors and patients 5. Has a great social life 6. Has an a generally all-around awesome family 7. Enjoys sex of every type that sticks to the following rules:
a) Rape is NOT alright b) Pedophilia is NOT alright c) Physical, emotional, and mental abuse is NOT alright
I'm really sorry but I don't see how anyone can even think about bestiality without laughing hysterically.
Example -
OK...I love dogs (No. Not like that. Get you mind out of...well, wherever it is) but just picturing this situation incites laughter.
Yeah...I think I can say, with reasonable assuredness, that whom ever attempts full penetrative sex with a cat will be VERY sorry. Somebody will get a new asshole and I don't think it will be the cat.

Y'know, I ve seen some Dumb shit in my time.... Maybe it's a cultural thing. In civilized places, like New York, we don't have any barnyard-type animals to fuck. Then again, I'm sure there are people here planning their trips to Iowa the way they plan tripos to Thailand. Maybe They'll end up being cellmates with John T. Bone.
sensi, even if i walked past a stsbles tonight and heard a voice booming from the field"do you want a blowjob"and turned around to find a horse grinning at me with the promise that"im wearing suspenders cmon i wont tell if you dont"..its just not on for me,not trying to ridicule you sensi just add a bit of humour to the debate..i will leave the riding to the jockeys..each to there own and at least you brought it up for discussion.
I don't know anything about sex with horses. But I do know a lot about horses. lol The last thing you would want to do is stick you dick in a horses mouth.
I wonder if beastiality leads to the same problems as NORMAL sex.
ring-ring Sensi: "Hello?" Meoooww? Sensi""Look,Kitty it's over!We had some fun,but it didn't mean anything!" Meow-Meow-Meow! Sensi: "Kitty, please,,don't drag this out, just move on like I did!" Meow-Meow dart frog Meow? Sensi: "Yes Kitty,I'm going to hook up with dart frog.Deal with it!"
I don't understand why all of the concern is such a question of animal protection. The most important issue of bestiality is that people should not be expected or pressured into fornicating with types of creatures other than themselves if they don't feel that they would make for an enjoyable sex partner. If a woman were to become pregnant by a horse or dog it would be a terrible situation for her, but for the animals this seems like it would be a step up, I would think they would be pleased about it.

well its impossible for a human female to become pregnant with anything outside of a human male.
What I am getting at here is that I assume that when a dog humps your leg, that the animal is trying to administer his perverse sexual desires on you. This makes me think that having sex with a person is probably a nice treat for them. My sympathies extend more to the people who are lowered to the contempt of the dumb beasts.

This definitely falls under the trisexual category.
I'll admit to being curious enough to watch a few scenes. But my opinion is that this is far from normal, and the fact that animals cannot communicate verbally leaves questions about consent. Not to mention lower brain function, making it easier to be taken advantage of, kinda like teachers with their students.
So my wife, a mental health professional, just happened to have her "Quick Reference to the Diagnostic Criteria from DSM-IV" handy. This is an official publication of the American Psychiatric Association and normal citation from it is to cite the DSM IV itself. The only reason I mention that it is coming from the guide is in case there is some more expanded wording in the full DSM IV compared to the text I am quoting from the guide.
302.9 Paraphilia Not Otherwise Specified
This category is included for coding paraphilias that do not meet the criteria for any of the specific categories. Examples include, but are not limited to, telephone scatologia (obscene phone calls), necrophilia (corpses), partialism (exclusive focus on part of body), zoophilia (animals), coprophilia (feces), klismaphilia (enemas), and urophilia (urine).
Now, just because the DSM says you are a perverted freak does not mean you are one. That would be as bogus as your argument that if the DSM did not address you as a perverted freak you were not one.
On the other hand, the fact that you are coming to a forum where lots of perverts hang out and are getting emphatically called a perverted freak probably carries a lot of weight.
Your assertion that Zoophiles would within ten years attain the same social status as gays was so absurd I was not even able to tell my wife with a straight face. Why don't you go down to a GLAD meeting and express your solidarity and belief that you are just like them? Wear a shirt you don't like though, because you won't want your nose bleeding all over one of your favorites.
sensi i think you should hold your fire till bestiality becomes legal..?then the titles will become even more extreme..think about it soon youll be watching..amputee horse gangbangs, mule bukkake,90 and in the saddle, beauty and the bestiality, snow white and the seven hooves..the list goes on..you will need to get windscreen wipers fitted to your plasma television..your arm in a plastercast...your retinas burnt beyond recognition, seriously and dont laugh but isnt there people out there that can communicate with animals, claim to know what there thinking there feelings etc.maybe there the key to this what do you call those people lol..
Well, Psychotherapists and counselors of all stripes don't memorize the DSM, so it's not too surprising that someone would miss it. My wife also says that it is possible your Psychologist was making the effort to be non-judgmental. This is a stance many therapists take during counseling as a therapeutic tool.
Also, you know, if you are being treated for depression, your therapist may not think that the Zoophilia was the pressing concern. The way that insurance works these days causes many counselors to have to focus on the problem at hand. Insurance may allow as few as six sessions at a time which is barely enough time to deal with whatever drove you into therapy. They are not going to be able to deal with every issue you have in your life.
As long as you are interested in adults (and it sounds like you are otherwise heterosexual) you may find that some of your more extreme desires wane with time. A stable adult sexual relationship helps a lot with this. I know my own more kinky interests have subsided with time. I say this as a person who has enjoyed looking at pictures and stories of zoo stuff from time to time.
On the other hand, as a college student, you are in the time of your life where your permanent desires and fantasies are going to be fixed. The more you act on these desires, the more you will be that guy. The more you keep it as on occasional kink that you use porn as an outlet for (and don't actually start doing it with the animals) and concentrate on adult relationships with women, the more you will be that guy.
Our brains don't stop growing until we are about 27. In the years before that, and especially the years from about 16-23, the brain makes a "thicket" of neurons that grow like crazy. It then thins them out in the time going towards 27. It does this by reinforcing the ones that are used a lot and pruning the ones that are not. If you decide that zoo is perfectly normal and wade hip deep in it, you will become that guy for the rest of your life.
If you do actually want to get psychiatric help, it is available to you. I am not saying that it is required for you to live a normal life. All you have to do is decide that you are going to be titillated by this stuff but not going to do more than that.

I have no problem continuing my relationship of 4 years with my girlfriend & the one I have with my female horse. I'm happy where I am.
And no pscyh doc has talked to me about it. I pressed the issue with them. All they asked:
"Are you physically restraining the animal?"
"No, never"
"Do you feel guilty about your sexual attraction towards animals?"
so that makes it ok to be a sick fuck? i'm sure there's plenty of educated pedophiles with great social lives. Still doesn't mean they're not sick fucks. The same argument applies here. A sick fuck is a sick fuck, no matter if you're rich, poor, dumb, the president, god, etc. sick-fuckness is sick-fuckness.

"Sick fucks" is pretty subjective. Do you know what that word means? Check out the dictionary if you don't know.
Peace & love,
Sonic
PS.: The fact remains not a single person has posted a solid agruement against bestiality. So far we have the following:
1) "Thats disgusting" 2) "You're one sick puppy" 3) "Humans are not meant to have sex with animals" a) Explain that a little better. Read a biology textbook learn that humans are animals as well.
1) It is inherently psychologically harmful. I know you will want some sort of predicate for this, but psychology does not work exactly the way platonic logic does. Some things are just bad for you and your brain.
2) All paraphilias have the ability to undermine your other healthy relationships. This is a particularly good example of one that could do that. Many paraphiliacs find themselves increasingly unable to relate to the other men and women in their romantic lives in ways that don't involve their paraphilia. This can take several forms including: a) always wanting to include the paraphilia in lovemaking. b) distance and discord with the significant other as the S.O. resists or disapproves of the paraphilia. c) an increasing focus on the paraphilia to the exclusion of normal lovemaking with the S.O. - this one would be of particular importance in Zoo cases.
3) Particularly extreme kinks like Zoo can also cause a lot of inner shame and self disgust.
4) Isolation from society. You are seeing a lot that in this very forum.
5) Trouble with the law. You can get in trouble for having sex with animals, and it extends beyond just the fact that fucking a horse is illegal most places. Once you have a family, it is the type of thing that Child Protective Services will take a dim view of, and could very well result in the state taking your children away from you.
I mean, if you want good arguments for why any paraphilia might be bad for you, a bunch of paraphiliac porn hounds are not the best group to tell you. The mental health professional in our family just went to bed. However, there are people out there who can help you.
I find the reactions you conveyed from your therapists to be odd, and am inclined to think that if you have conveyed them accurately that these were more along the lines of threshold questions rather than the last word on the issue.
Having been an intelligent and angry young man myself, I suspect that you quickly became contemptuous of your therapists and broke off sessions perhaps prematurely. I think it is a good idea to try to find one that you can respect intellectually and then spend more than six sessions with him. Before she went to bed, my wife also mentioned that there are therapists who specialize in sexual deviance and you may want to talk to one of them.
i don't think that anyone was disputing that humans aren't animals. i think we are. still makes it abnormal to fuck other species of animals. a dog and a goat don't normally fuck. a parrot and an elephant don't normally fuck. humans and other species don't normally fuck.
if you're a human and you fuck other species, you're a sick fuck.

A lot of people would say a lot of the fetishes on this forum are "abnormal" i.e, not something the majority enjoys.
And you are wrong about interspecies sex. I highly recommend you read some books:
Midas Dekkers: Dearest Pet: On Bestiality, ISBN 978-1-85984-310-9
Page 34-42 talks about animals that have sex with other different animals. Noteable examples: Small dog with a cat, various african water buffalo with hippos, etc.
Also: Andrea Beetz Ph.D.: Bestiality and Zoophilia (2005), ISBN 978-1-55753-412-5
