I grew in rural Texas. It was common for men to admit to having sex with cows and mares. It is pretty common in all farming communities. And all the jokes about it were based it truth.

Now I can understand the “eck” factor. I have the “eak” about male/males homosexuality and bestiality but I don’t think it should be against the law.

Now to say your protecting the poor animals is really disingenuous. All the things human do to animals a women having sex with her dog is pretty tame.

I can initiate a sexual encounter with another human, and that human can either give or deny his/her consent in a clear, explicit fashion. This is the baseline of acceptable sexual conduct.

But animals as such cannot communicate in the manner that humans do. How is it that an animal can convey its full understanding of an sexual advance from a human? Granted, our knowledge of communication between animals within a particular species is incomplete (at least that's my understanding), but I think its fair to say that even the more "advanced" mammals cannot be said to fathom "reason."

So how do —or how could— animals grant consent for a sexual advance from a human?

Which by the way has nothing to do with bestiality, only we can't consider any animal with human eyes nor put them into human behaviour boundaries
