I had always read that the going rate for doing a B/G for women started at about $1000 if you're new and could go as high as $3-5k if you have good name recognition.

Now when I look at the most popular channels on PH, Xvideos, etc etc... I see the usual top studios like Brazzers, BangBros, Evil Angel, Reality Kings, etc etc ..and I think it's plausible they are paying about that.

But once you get past them, you see a lot of 2nd & 3rd tier "independent" studios which usually have lower budget sets/production, unknown noob actresses, and often a lot of gonzo. Examples might include "Property Sex", "Fake Taxi", "PervMom", "Amateur Allure", and others. (and let's not forget Brandon Iron RIP)

No way these lower budget studios are paying their actresses about $1k for a B/G scene.

What's the real number they're likely paying these women per B/G scene? $750? $500? $300? Are there any insiders here who know?

If it's the same North American girl, everyone pays about the same rate. For example, Blake Blossom charges me $1k - $1200, and Brazzers the same. A girl may be paid more by a bigger studio, but that's usually because the shoots are more involved, or stipulations in their contract. These can include:

- longer shoots with dialogue
- shoots that involve additional footage such as Brazzers shooting specific shots for their ads
- required number of social mentions

There is no reason for a girl to charge a smaller studio less for the same amount of work.

The smaller studios save costs in other ways such as:
- location is usually fixed, like their house
- no makeup artist
- no stylist
- most shot by one camera man instead of multiple
- no catering
- no grip and audio
- no specialized lighting and equipment
- shoot in europe

For example, propertysex has no lighting and is single camera POV. Amateur Allure is the same.

Do you plan to enter production? Almost all your postings are about rates and such.

snufish - my posts have been mostly about rates because that seems to be the hardest thing to find anything about accurately. Production and Affiliate marketing are easy to find on Google.

fit18 - Thank you for a very informative post with all those details. Much appreciated. But if Blake Blossum is a top 100 ranked star on PH (she's #63 of 800) while most of the women on the sites I mentioned... as well as many on fit18... aren't even popular enough to even be on that list. Do they also get $1000 - $1200 like Blake? I guess the better question is.. who *mostly* sets the rate? Does the production company say "here's what the job pays.. take it or leave it" or does the performer say "here's what I charge.. take it or leave it" ???

czechcasting reportedly paid as little as $25 for BG, often less than $100.

Yes, and I'll explain in the answer to the next question.
The industry mostly sets the rate, but the girls have the freedom to alter it. The amount you see floated around - $1000 - is the starting rate. Think of it like professional sports or Hollywood - if you are a newcomer, you get the base rate and it's pretty meritocratic because nearly everyone gets it when you work with a reputable agency. You are free to ask for more and set your price, but as a newcomer, the companies don't have an idea of the traffic and sales you can generate, so few will take up your asking price.

But once your videos get out and you become a star, you can ask for more. This can happen quickly, as you saw with girls like Blake Blossom or Emily Willis. You'll get contract offers and better deals. Like a rookie baseball player, you take what the job pays, but once you become MVP, you say "here's what I want".

Everyone pays different, it's hundreds if not thousands of companies in the industry so pay will fluctuate. I've seen rates as low as $50 to high of $25k. It depends on supply and demand. Some popular internet brands are paying $700-$900 regardless if the performer is newbie or star.

Thanks again. Yea, it all comes down to "everything is negotiable in this world"

There are soooo many smaller sites putting out content, that NFW can they all be paying Brazzers/Bang rates. $700-900 sounds more reasonable but I wonder how many are going even lower than that.... anyone know?

Does this site have DM's? Or are any of you guys on Reddit?

The reason I keep mentioning Brandon is that he's a good example of someone who claimed to be broke but was able to do nearly 1000 scenes of LMM. That would be almost a million dollars if he paid $1k/scene... which makes me wonder how much he really was paying for sooooo many performers to agree to it. Although most of his performers were unknowns at the time.

We should clarify the scope of your question. You asked about second tier sites and gave examples of "Property Sex" and "Fake Taxi". I am on first name basis with these owners and we all know how much each of us pay. $1000 is the base rate for North American talent.

It is cheaper to shoot in europe. The base rate there is 500-600 euros, or let's say $700 USD. But except for fake tax, the examples you gave are north american produced mostly.

Very few pay lower. These would be the third/fourth/bottom tier with absolute amateurs or operating secretly in eastern europe and asia. That's where you get the $50 that snufish mentioned. 20 years ago, Rocco and Porno Dan would tear through prague and budapest for that price, but not now. Hasn't been like that for at least 10 years. Very few pay that currently except for complete scammers, human traffickers, or young friends doing it on a lark. Second tier sites are not involved in this segment.

Yes, this site has DMs
You last observation is apt. He wasn't getting current Lexi Belle, but newbie Lexi Belle. The rates were cheaper. He could've worked out deals directly with them. For example, a girl may ask $1500 per scene, but be willing to go down to $1200 per scene if I guarantee 3. And some girls you have good chemistry with, may offer you less. Brandon also shot many scenes in europe. His locations and lighting are very amateur too. He would be technically broke if his revenue just covered expenses, but that would still allow him to shoot 1000 scenes.

ALso wanted to ask, how many years was he operating Load My Mouth? $1 million over 2 decades would be doable.

Load My Mouth was also BJ-only scenes, and it's my understanding that, at least back when Brandon was shooting, those paid a lot less than b/g sex scenes.

OK. BJ's are as low as $200 in today's market, for girls from reputable north american agencies.
It's even possible he got it as an upsell.

For example, a producer of StepSiblingsCaught may ask the girl, "how about a blowjob scene after this shoot for an extra $200?", and shoot it for his own site.

Thanks again fit18, much appreciated again. Is the "conversations" function here the equivalent of DM's? (please check yours)

So, a BJ only scene may be as low as $200, but if she's then asked to flip over and do some doggie style, that's going to cost the producer about $800 more? (hypothetically)

Yes. But I would caution that $200 for a BJ is possible, but probably not offered by every north american actress.

Few years ago, did some work for a studio that specializes in women with BB based out of FL. They cover travel expense, makeup, hair etc.. The talent gets 800 each day for 2 solo scenes and 1200 for BG scenes.

Thanks, what does the acronym BB mean? (Bareback? BigBoobs?)

And which area of FL? Miami/Dade? Are there any other FL areas that are used for shooting adult stuff?

Earlier in this thread someone mentioned 3rd/4th tier studios. Just out of curiosity can someone give an example of that? And how many tiers down does it go before you get to actual amateurs?

If using Hoogie's understanding of 2nd tier, and some of my own opinion, the 4th tier would be basically amateurs, and if there was a lower tier, it would be the really dodgy stuff. Perhaps:

1st tier - VMG, Brazzers, etc
2nd tier - Fake Taxi, Property Sex, Stepsiblingscaught
3rd tier - me, Jay's POV, Oldje, Zero Tolerance, Rocco, PornoDan
4th tier - exclusiveclub, almost anything on clips4sale
5th tier - those asian sites that look like the girls (or trannies) are human trafficked and drugged up. These should be avoided

There's nothing wrong with 3rd or 4th tier, as it usually caters to a specific niche and puts out great content, but we are not spending $5k per scene like the big boys, and we usually shoot more amateurs/newcomers

Thanks again fit18. Yea, the lines blur between 2nd & 3rd tier. Some of those have lighting & videography almost comparable to the 1st tier. Will the eventual lowering of equipment prices flatten things out somewhat?

And is FL shooting all about Miami/Dade or is anything going on near on the west (Tampa) or north (Daytona, etc) ?

Hoogie are you genuinely curious about industry standards or gonna try to shoot your own porn? Lots of questions about rates, cost cutting, where to shoot, lingo and long term budgeting.

We can follow your path to stardom as you go up the tiers! My only thought though is that a BJ scene with a little doggy at the end probably isnt the route to go bc i dont think you'll get a discount.

The correct term is trans or transsexual (TS is also acceptable). The word you used can be offensive to trans people. I expected better from an actual site, 3rd tier or not.

Always feet n ass. In that order.

Ah ok. So it's something like this...

1st tier - big stars, big budgets, multiple, popular niches
2nd tier - single popular niche, big/medium budget
3rd tier - Small budget, single intermediate niche
4th tier - Small budget, microscopic niche/one performer site
5th tier - Dark Web bullshit

Jaceler, I'm trying to learn as much as I can about the producer side, with the *possible* intention of shooting. But it's a long path. Does this site have any dedicated forums for producer talk? Does Reddit? AVN?

FnA, I agree, TS is not my niche, but they're just people trying to get thru life like the rest of us.

Tbone, good list.

Not anymore. There used to be a forum called "go fuck yourself" gfy.com, but now it's mostly old time porn people bitching about life and trying to pump crypto.

I guess the best would be to click on "Directors" in this site and read their posts, which I've been doing. Any of you directors want to jump in and say anything here?

^Good luck with that request because I doubt you will get many industry people discussing rates and what not because it's in their interest to avoid discussing what happens behind the camera. Rejoice that you have fit18 offering a portion of what happens. I mean if a producer/director wants a specific performer then he/she will likely pay them more than they normally pay most other performers because they really want that performer. If the performer is ultra popular then she will likely get more money for the same scene another performer gets because that's the way the business works.

If directors here are shy about talking rates, here's two other non-money questions if any of them want to discuss...

What kind of lens focal lengths do you like?

How much lighting are you using for indoor shoots? (what kind of rigs?)

@fit18 thanks for the info, very helpful.

As someone who actually is considering production within the next couple years, hopefully you (or someone) can answer this:

1) How does someone starting out go about booking talent when you have no background/references? I imagine both talent and agents would be cautious about something like this, for safety reasons of course. I'm thinking I would hire someone already in the industry that has contacts and a good reputation, but I don't know where one would begin on that, either.

2) How much say does a producer have in picking the talent they want to work with and pair up? Is everyone fair game as long as they want to work with you and you're paying them what it'll take? Or is it one of those things where agents will say "if you want to work with Talent A you will also need to guarantee me 2 other gigs, and one must be with Talent B or C".

I'm sure you can find lots of discussion on this kind of stuff on reddit in just random filmography related subs (doesn't have to be porn-specific).

If you are starting out, you book through an agency. You'll be booking the male and female talent. If you are a guy looking to fuck some pornstars on camera for the first time, forget it. Nobody will send you a girl. You have to work months, if not years, as a producer, or you come into the business with millions like that guy did with Bluebird Films.

Or you have a brand new girl that everyone wants, and is only willing to work with you.

Everyone is fair game. No agent works the way you describe. The only restrictions you'll get usually are girls saying they will only work with their boyfriends/husband, or only with certain male performers.

I must caution everyone reading this thread that this is not some way to fuck girls like woodman. Almost all the performer/producers I know, started as either male performers, or were production people at porn companies, for many years. Even woodman was a producer for Private.

Likewise, you would get into this if you enjoy porn and want to see something currently not properly served by the market. I like fit/skinny girls. It's not me in the scenes. I'm essentially paying for custom videos, which can be fun, but also maddening.

Instead of booking thru an agency, does anyone have any opinions on finding talent thru SexyJobs? (I'm making contacts with some local producers in my city who have used talent from there, so I'm trying to get references)

Question... if you upload your own custom content to PH, Xvideos, etc, does it work like Youtube in that you get paid revenue (for ad views) if you can generate lots of views? AFAIK, YT will generally pay about $2K for every 1 million views for a a video, depending on the niche. (IE: a YT video with 10 million views might have made about $20K) Does anyone know approx what 1 million views on PH, Xvideos, etc pays?

Pornhub does have a model program where you get paid $1-$3k per million views. Xvideos also has the same for about $200 per million. But it's been years since I looked into pornhub's program, so the payout may be much less in today's market

I guess a good question for gfy.com would be to ask if anyone is making any money on PH just by views on your channel?

Here's another question to just throw out there related to tiers... why is it that mostly the 3rd tier videos rarely show the guys face? You would think that it's to either put all the focus on the girl, or allow the viewer to "mentally substitute" themself in the scene, right? (I think there's a term for that?)

But then why do the 1st tier (and a perhaps a lot of the 2nd tier) videos tend to show the guys faces a lot more? (IE: Johnny Sinns, Danny D, etc)
