I have no idea why they are doing this. I know of no advantages to this methodology.

Despite the fact that there are still problems with Evil Angel DVDs like BUTTMAN'S EUROPEAN VACATION, at least it has been acknowledged by Ms. Devereaux on this forum. However, there are too many DVDs which have all kinds of problems which should have been corrected before they were released to the consumers. I just reviewed (in part, for Adult DVD Empire, and in part for myself) GIRLS ON FIRE, 30 MEN FOR SANDY and UP AND CUMMERS 52, and of course, ALL of them have some sort of defect. The SANDY disc has chapter stop problems (similar to the BUTTMAN disc) where you cannot backwards search past a chapter stop (all Caballero discs have this problem). UP AND CUMMERS 52 loses its time tracking after the layer change, and GIRLS ON FIRE looks like complete shit...and I say that sincerely! The DVD looks like it was mastered from an edited VHS rental tape and the packaging looks like it was xeroxed off an old boxcover. I know that DVD technology is still new, but most of these problems are absolutely avoidable with just a little more care and better quality control. Again, I praise those companies which are trying to correct their mistakes; I doubt that GenXXX would ever correct the wrong version of THE ADVENTURES OF SUZY SUPERSLUT, or the Snatch Productions would remaster SISTER SNATCH, or that VCX will give us a new, more faithful version of GIRLS ON FIRE. I encourage all consumers who are tired of their defective DVDs to bitch and bitch loudly at the companies which foist their shoddy products on us. [Link] |

There is horizontal line (like a dropout from a tape) which runs throughout Francesca Le's incredibly hot girl-guy scene. Needless to say, it is annoying as hell. Clearly, this defect was from the original master source for DVD, but it does NOT appear on my laserdisc version. I would re-purchase the title if the defects were corrected. [Link] |

I wonder if the original footage was defective but Snatch Productions decided to release it anyway because the content was so hot and they needed to recoup the cost? I suppose director David Christopher would be the best person to ask about this... [Link] |

| tricia_devereaux Evil Angel DVD Patience is a virtue, but who wants to be virtuous? 4283 Posts 4/00 | Posted - Sep 30 2000 : 6:18PM I was doing my full proofing on my authorer's hard drive and letting them do the final proof of the DVD check disc. (Big mistake, definitely haven't done that since.) As another example of something that I didn't even know was wrong, they were putting regional coding on the first several DVDs they did, and therefore I had them redo them for me for free. The titles which have the chapter stop problems will all have new versions by Christmas. This freeze-frame at the transition was seen in Buttman's European Vacation, Buttman's Anal Show, and Voyeur 2. Voyeur 2 was recalled and will be reissued beginning of October. We didn't recall the other two titles, but when the current inventory of those titles runs out, it will be replaced with the corrected version.
