You're comparing apples and oranges, especially with Wesley Pipes and Jack Napier featuring heavily in gonzo where talking to the cameraman and goofing around are commonplace. That sort of thing doesn't really fit in with Lansky's production style.
Some of the actors look like they had fun in BTS photos they post on Twitter.
