What are some of the camcorders that shooters use?

Anyone know what they use at Diabolic?
Anyone know what they use at Exquisite?

(I particularily like the images produced by these two studios)

thanks!

Most frequently used is Sony 1000 or PD series or Canon GL series (not taking into account those starting to shoot in HD). If you like the image quality from Diabolic and Exquisite better, it's probably because of two factors -- the individual camera man knows more than most shooters about white balance, ND filters and exposures, and the finished product is transferred properly in the DVD authoring process -- a lot of otherwise acceptable-looking shows get mangled by DVD authoring by cheap, uncaring or simply incompetent technicians.

Thanks, dac.

I recently watched Equistite's Big Tit Brotha Lovers 3 and Diabolic's Teens With Tits 2 and was very taken by the gorgeous natural lighting. I think it's amazing that something as simple as light from the window can make the human body so gorgeous to look at. And all this was shot using prosumer camcorders! A testament to these shooters' skills.

*shamefully dusts off XL2 manual*

I wonder how tricky it is to preserve the skin tones when shooting handheld near large windows.

I know that the Sony VX2100 is quite popular in porn, i have know both belladonna and mike john to use one of these. One of my friends owns a Canon XL2, from what i have seen of it, i think its a great camera, but do not know of its use in porn, you really need some people in the industry to answer this one for ya.

So what is the basic or lets say standard set of natural density filters? I know that there are ND filters that go as much as 20 stops, I dont think that that one counts as a standard. I am planning to get a digital camcorder soon. I am kinda zeroed on Canon Optura Xi. I think that it is a decent starter camcorder and price is also attractive. In addition I plan to get a cheap tripod, camera bad, UV filter, ND filter set, 3 cheap extra batteries, couple of DV tapes, and a video light - I am kinda stuck here too.
