I can't figure out for the life of me why performers would want their scenes available for free download on the tube sites. I'm going to go ahead and guess for the most part they don't want them there.
What can performers do to get them removed? Say for example I had a Teagan Presley craving, well why would I want to pay for something when a site has 50 of her scenes for free, 4-30 minutes most of them. This is just an example but I can type in most any name on some sites and get plenty of scenes for almost anyone, for free.
In these tough times I'm sure a small number of free scenes can help someone get some recognition, but when your fans can placate their desires, albeit with usually lower video quality, who is going to bother to buy?
This might be a very "Duh" issue to the majority of the people reading this, since everyone knows free sites are killing pay sites and DVD, but is there any action a performer can take to have their scenes removed from free sites?
Are the scene owners free to distribute them as they please once they pay the talent their fee? This just seems like such a lose/lose for the industry.

Usually, performers do not own the rights to the scenes once they are payed. The performer signs a model release that assigns all her rights to the production company.
Many of the free scenes you see on tube sites have been purchased legally from content brokers. If a scene has been illegally copied and placed on a free site then a performer can sue the tube site for claims involving rights to publicity as well as other claims.
I believe that the magazine Perfect 10 used right to publicity claims on the behalf of the models against an infringing website in litigation they instituted several years ago.
