...when they put out new movie editions with new directors, when a director who has left the company has made that title their own.
Cases in point are Cum Stained Casting Couch, Throat Gaggers, etc.
I have two gripes with this. One, is that it shows little faith in their new directors to develop new concepts and titles and it gives them the pain of having to make someone else's title their own.
Secondly, it debases the effort that the original directors put into the movie, and can turn the movie line in to one to avoid, rather than a must have. Some titles should be put to bed and let the orignal developer of the idea take lasting credit for it.
Recycling titles also misleads the customer into thinking they are getting the same product as before - which they are not.
Red Light just seem to be on a role of making a hash of things at the moment. Can anyone defend them?
The Throat Gaggers series has been directed by David Luger (#1-3), Robbie Fischer (#3-4), Jake Malone (#5-10), Martin Del Toro (#11), and Mr. Pete (#12).
Hustler did it with the Barely Legal series, they are still pumping out volumes even though Clive McLean is dead.

The only thing I look forward to from RLD is the "Twisted Vision" series by Stefano. Some of the best POV around, bar none.

If they own the rights to the title, they have every right to give the series to another director. And it's not like they are the only studio that does this. If the new director screws up the series, then that's just the way it goes.
Ok, I always seem to be defending Redlight/PXP but I love working there...sorry! Like someone said "they are Redlights titles and thats what happens when a director moves on." If it's a successful series, why not keep it going, most directors have watched the other movies and fully understand the concepts!
Speaking of Stefano's "Twisted Vision" I have the honor of being Mr. Stefano's Production Manager on the newest "Twisted Vision" and the newest "Tease me, Please me" that we begin shooting in December. Trust me, they are gonna be H O T!!!!!
I really hate it personally, it's their legal right and I think every one does it, Elegant Angel and big wet asses springs to mind. I like to series I like continue though, its a conundrum
I think it's good that diffrent directors get the chance to direct, no diffirent from diffirent directors and writers for TV-shows. It's a way to keep a series fresh and less repetitive.
granted but unlike tv shows it is often one persons vision and their entire creation (TV shows appear to have more inputs)
to take something very creative that some one poured their heart into, and made an ass load of money for you with, and give the title you came up with, pitched, and believed in to some one else cause it will move units based on the work the original director put into it is fucked up.
When william makes who let the whores out 3 im gonna be bitter
Exactly Kami. Not everytime, but sometimes it is surely just best to draw a line under a series - rather than having 57 volumes of something which is no more defined than when it started.
It doesn't bother me at all. I look at it like a movie sequel. Like how the batman or james bond or superman movies were directed by different people. I like to compare the differences and see how each director made it their own.
There is no reson to defend RLD, they own the titles, they developed the titles, they paid for the titles, they edited the titles, they replicated and printed the titles-Guess what, they can do what ever they want with the series and can hire any director they wish to. The names and series belongs to the company, not to the directors. Since RLD put the cash behind their product, not the directors.
People have misunderstood. I have no doubt that Red Light have the total right to do this.
People got pissed off, and rightly so when they released 'No cum dodging' etc, and tried to mirroe titles OWNED by other directors.
That's not what i am suggesting is going on here. I'm simply asking if people think that once a line has finished with one director, whether it is right to pump out the same title again with another. It's about personal preference rather than legality.
I just think to bring someone in that takes over an existing thing, gives that person an unfair task.
It seems that people in the forum have a split opinion, which is fine.
I avoid Red Light like the plague because of their overuse of the SAME GUYS, especially Strong & Stephano. I also avoid other dvd's that have other overused guys, such as Talon, Wood, Davis, etc. Some of the companies now don't tell who the guys are.... When are they going to wake up and get fresh male talent? Maybe some of the overused guys own the companies....
ANabolic's been doing it for years. Balls deep, down the hatch, gangbang auditions, gangbang girl. Some of them were messed up, but in other cases they were ok because the original series were based on pretty simple concepts. Like in gangbang auditions, take a hot girl, give her 5 guys, do anal, DP airtight, with full body shots, give her pops to swallow and boom you're done. It's simple in theory, and it's the way it had always been done. So if they follow that formula( I think chico has for the most part) they'll still keep many old fans of the series(like me) even if there is a different directot.

What I haveto say doesn't reflect directly on RLD, but the industry in general. It's all about ownership. If they own a title, they just want to run with it. Let's face it. Anal series, oral series, foot fetish, you name it. I don't care what the name of the series is. I want to know who shot it, directed it or distributed it.
What I will say is when directors don't own there stuff, and they leave a studio and decide to change one word in the title, that shows me that they don't have a creative bone in their heads and I won't buy there shit.
That's my feeling at the moment - that Red Light are really lacking creativity. Plus, with the departure of so many talented performers and directors, the new guys haven't exactly been peachy keen to get on these boards and establish themselves.
I'm not saying these guys are the B-team, but they just don't seem to have the presence of the guys they are replacing.
- I really hope i'm proved wrong.

I just don't think it's a very big deal. With some rare exceptions, most porn isn't all that creative anyhow. It's porn, that's it. While I appreciate that the better directors are highly skilled and masters of their craft, I don't see these guys as tortured artists or anything.
Who cares about the guys in the porn?!? There's a reason the dudes you mentioned get alot of work, it's because they're really good at what they do.... Fucking! Also opening up so you can see the girl getting fucked. Fresh Male Talent?!?!?!?! LOL!
Can't defend but it is their right. It doesn't bother me - I suppose I do get tricked sometimes into getting a couple of series based on great early entries. But no big deal since I'm only renting. I guess the ones with ownership (?) like Vince for the Breakin' 'Em In title can take it with them - or is that one with a slight change? And Jules I guess.
Reminescent of Everhard's enchanting classic, "Cum Filled Asshole Overload, RLD just released "Overflowing Assholes III". While arguably a spinoff, John Strong's efforts, with "Overflowing", imo have more than adaquately lived up to honor its presumed association.
How? Sandra Romain makes her inaugural and perhaps only U.S. Ass Creampie feature Scene...and its a beauty.

I'm glad you said that because John Strong is for me the only director left at Red Light district worth watching for. When he's shooting anal titles that is. And I like that he usually doesn't have Mark Wood or Mr. Pete participate in his titles.specially mark wood.just loook at how unpopular those two are at Rog's Fan Faves list. In the near future, a lot of series are going to be ruined for sure.
"Overflowing assholes 3 " is an outstanding movie . As far as I remember every actress gets airtighted ( !! ) , which is what matters to me .
The funny thing is that I can not stand creampies ( I am more into facials ) , but when the dp action is so nice like in this movie , I go for these cream pie movies .
Thumbs up for this production , and keep´em coming .

When Mark Wood joined RLD I was hoping he would start his own foot-fetish serie there but nothing. That was a huge letdown for sure!

"Young" women's assholes are being filled with cum, by multiple men, in most cases, twice their age, for a few thousand dollars, so that other men can make tons of cash off other guys that use it to make their cock's feel good....and you have a moral problem with who gets credit/owns and can use the name of the series in which it happens?

I have watched " Overflowing assholes 3 " for the second time now , and it has become part of my list of movies that have good chances that I will buy them . ( 5 girls getting all their holes filled at once , that´s a pretty good quota for a single dvd - compared to Gangland , Gangland Cream Pie , Gangbang Auditions , Swank Extreme , Angel Perverse , 4 on the whore , Fully loaded etc...) .

Red Light District was my favorite company for a long time, because they had great directors like Manuel Ferrara, Erik Everhard, Jake Malone, David Luger, and Mike John. When all these directors left the company I was hoping for good replacements, but they never came. First was Martin Del Toro, and now are Mr Pete and Mark Wood, but none of these directors filled my expectations and I think Red Light District isn’t the company I discovered few years ago. I think Michael Stefano movies and John Strong original series are the best now. And is a fact that Red Light District has loose quality after the massive exodus of directors. I only hope that the new directors can change the situation…
I don't defend Red Light District for anything and this will not change that anytime soon. There always seems to be something negative going on about that company and it's a shame. They're definately marks for their own titles and don't show the proper respect to the directors who make the company rich. As a result, they have lost many of their top notch directors and, in some cases, the respect of their fanbase.
"Two Shades above the rest", - The Secluded Paradyme.
I notice a drop off in quality from RLD and PXP a while ago, but you know things change. Five years ago I would have been the first to say they were the number one gonzo studio out there, now I'm not so sure. I say give the new directors a little more time and see what happens.
Thanks to the original poster, to shellshock91, and nomad2317!
RLD's changes bugged me for a long time and at least there are others who feel the same about it. In rare cases they can have a director that can maintain a successful series air but most of the time it is simply tricking potential buyers into wasting money on something that isn't worth it anymore. RLD has done than repeatedly now (think of the "cumfart cocktails" series) and it will take serious reviews now and lots of excerpts for me to ever give them cash again. They were my favourite for a long time but after they chased away Erik Everhard, they went downhill badly.
" Cream filled Chocolate assholes 2 " ( Mike Long , Michael Stefano ? ) was one of the best movies I have seen in the last months . 3 actresses are getting airtighted , and the rest is dp´ed . For me that is an excellent quota .
The sad fall of the empire as most of the porn is now very cookie cutter and with out a directors credit. Not much care into a product if a director cannot even take credit for a project.
