Try this: Press the Windows key plus R. This opens up the run dialog box. Type cmd and then press OK. You'll see a command window open. Type nslookup www.anabolic.com then enter.

You should see this:

It is beginning to sound like you have a major problem with your system.

You might try ad-aware or spybot and see if anything is on your machine. Perhaps the latest version of some anti-virus software might help.

Try doing the same thing only typing command instead of cmd . Alternatively, somewhere on your Windows Start Menu, there's probably an entry for "MS-DOS Prompt."

To see where you may be getting blocked, try doing a traceroute. Follow the directions on this page and substitute www.anabolic.com for www.yahoo.com in the example.

You should see a bunch of lines reporting the path your request is taking from your computer to the destination. Eventually, you should start seeing someting like this:

(number) * * * Request timed out.

The entry just before you see that is as far as you're able to go. If you report back on that, I can probably tell you where you are being blocked.

The fact that it's the first hop in the path suggests to me that it's your ISP that blocking the access or there's something wrong in their network. If you want to pursue this with Cactus, you can always tell them you can't get to specific sites and that you believe (based on the traceroutes) that their routers are not passing the traffic.

On the other hand, I dug up this from their usage policy: "Neither you nor anyone you allow to use your Internet account shall: Post or transmit any unlawful, threatening, abusive, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic , profane or otherwise objectionable information. In particular, this applies, but is not limited, to Internet Relay Chat." (emphasis added by me)

So there's a chance they might cancel your account if they conclude that you're using your Internet connection to access adult sites. Considering they look like a mom & pop ISP/computer store and are really obsessed about people not stealing bandwidth from them, I would either find another ISP or resign yourself to not being able to access Anabolic.

You might have some luck with an anonymous proxy service (that hides your identity and masks your internet activity from your ISP), but most services charge monthly fees to access adult sites and a number of ISPs and websites block access to well-known anonymizers.
