| warrenwest67 Member Thanks for the mammaries. 966 Posts 1/07 | Why would my CD-Rom stop reading Data discs that it used to read? It will still play audio discs but it wont recognize data. This was never a problem before.... I installed a new CD- Rom unit (Hardware) and still have the same problem

| conquistador Deactivated User Hellhamster. 2947 Posts 10/03 | A simple fix ended up solving the problem, I disabled "autoplay". You can do this via registry editing or by going to My computer>right-click(whatever your drive is named)>Properties>Autoplay. |

| warrenwest67 Member Thanks for the mammaries. 966 Posts 1/07 | Thanks for your response, I haven't been able to totally disable the Auto-play, simply change the settings. working on it though. I am kind of glad to know someone else had the same problem and was able to resolve it. I am afraid a disc had some kind of bug that was able to make changes to my drive. |

| Hardware All-Star Member Your other left 14594 Posts 3/02 | right-click the drive in My Computer, select Properties, select the Hardware tab, select the drive then click on the Properties button, the Driver tab and, finally the Driver Details button. My CD-ROM has three drivers listed: If you're missing any of those you should try uninstalling and reinstalling the drive. PS - All three drivers should be in your System32 folder. |
