I have 2 internal HD on my PC.
Drive C is 18.6 GB with 2.20 unused
Drive F is 74.4 GB with 72.7 unused

I thought the way to move stuff was to open 2 screens and drag & drop from C to F.
I did that with my Kodak Easy Share folder with all my photos inside. NOW all I get when I try to access my photos is a message that says I can not access them because they can not be found. I can see the photos but they have a zig-zag line through them.
All the photos I put on post move are OK.
So I am afraid to move anything that I really need over to drive F.
How should I move stuff? All I have on there is all "My Documents".

If you are using XP try cut>paste rather then drag>drop.

Try it out with 1 or 2 files first.

And make sure that none of the files you're trying to move are tagged as read only.

I haven't had this problem. I've moved 100s of gigs of files by drag and drop. It takes a while sometimes but it always works.

How are you trying to access them? My Computer/Windows Explorer, or through some kind of program?

I would imagine that the program has a default folder that it looks for the pictures in. Unless you find that setting and change it to the new location it is going to keep looking for those pictures on the old drive.

I agree with Hardware. They may have moved but not changed the shortcuts associated with your viewing program.

Did the files you moved end up taking up space on the new drive?

Have you tried just finding them in explorer and opening them with the generic windows "picture and fax viewer"?

Can't be found - - with what? Are you searching with "Find" or "Search" or whatever it is called, and they are not being found?


Here's an idea.
I am not saying that this is the cure to your problem, just keep it on the back burner.... just in case. Something about the way you said that caused me to remember this:

The photos are not saved there. They're saved on your hard drive. Easy share is just the program you've been using to access them. I've never used it but you will probably find the settings under "Tools". Maybe try to change the default folder to the folder you're using on the new drive. Most programs have a little side window on the left of the explorer where you can navigate to wherever you want to go and click on the folder.
