Apparently my phone got hijacked or hacked or jacked or whatever the term is and someone has been making phone calls using my cell phone serial number through his phone. Now I have an bill for over $2000. And of course I'm disputing this charges, I don't know who's going to win but I'm not going down without a fight. Have you guys ever heard of this before? or has it happened to you personally? Thank you for your support I'm going through a very difficult time now. [Link]

The cellular companies can tell exactly which cell tower was used for each call (essentially locating the person making the calls). You'd still be responsible for the bill. Unless you made a call say in Miami with it and two minutes later there was a call from Chicago on your account... I hate cell phones, never had one except occasionally the company phone when I'm on duty on week-ends. [Link]
jamesn Senior Member Cambridge, MA 750 Posts 1/04	Posted - Aug 7 2005 : 4:50AM how do you pay your bill? i know most of the amex cards will actually have someone dispute the charges on your behalf. something very similar happened to me 2 years ago and they got it taken care of, i may have had to pay a hundred or two before they worked something out, but mine was somewhere around 700, at the least they'll tie things up for a few months holding payment. gaysatyr's correct about big brother possibly working for you if the guy's not local and you haven't turned off the feature except for emergencies. produce some receipts. if nothing else fails, tell them you'll see them in small-claims court and they'll settle for probably 1/3 of the sum rather than pay to send people to a courthouse. They are multiples calls that were answered and many were made from his cell phone. He said he never made a phone calls to anybody and only answered 3-4 calls max. However, T-Mobile is saying that he answered over 20 calls and made several more and now the bill is about 2,500 and now both of my cell phones have been temporary cut off because of that. I don't wanna pay this thing until everything clears up. I, first need to get the bill which wont happen up until the 16th of august (closing cycle) and well gonna take send him a copy so he can contact the Local Police Department to see if they can find something. This is very strange paying for something you did. I'm pretty sure that he's being honest with me, and also one must be crazy to made that many calls phones when the minute is rated at $3.00. If it comes down that I will have to pay for this, I will never ever again like cell phones or get one or whatever. What a rip-off. I'm hating my life now, why me? :( [Link]

Click to expand I once heard from somebody that he forgot to enable the "Keylock" feature and when he put his phone inside his pocket it didn´t disconnect the call he just made ... or even worse "random dial" :( Cube [Link]
