Got this in today's email from a friend, who is IT Manager at a small midwestern college:

Microsoft announced 6 new vulnerabilities today including one that can be executed by viewing a malicious JPEG image (website or emailed). I have yet to see any info that code exists for the vulnerability but I am sure it will not take long now that it is public knowledge. The link below has more information:

Thanks for the headups by the way did you noticed that they have now the validating tool? I guess Microsoft is really fighting hard against those pirates :P

The JPG vulnerability is pretty old -- 8 or 9 monts. If you use Windows Update, you should have seen the GDI+ detection tool which sniffs out copies of the DLL that have the bad JPG code...

In an nutshell, if you run Office, make sure you grab the latest service pack from http://officeupdate.microsoft.com

AMF, you could be right but if you visit the microsoft link I posted, they released these patches on 8/9. There may be something new.
