So, sometimes I download a scene, and it is all stretched out vertically, because it is in a HD format smashed for a normal screen. How can I change these scens into the HD ratio they were meant for? I even have a laptop with an HD screen, so it sucks when they are like that. I've heard it is possible to do, but I have no clue on how to do it. It is especially frustrating when I buy a download to own DVD, and the whole things is in the wrong ratio.

What player do you you use? You should be able to change the aspect ratio from within the player.
I use iether Realplayer or Windows media player, and I've looked through all the options and properties, and I can't find anything.

Download Media Player Classic and/or VLC player. You can change aspect ratios with both of them. MPC is here. VLC is here. I find VLC is a bit better but they are both worth a try. EDIT: IF the first picture is too compressed to read what I am trying to show you let me know. Media Player Classic: VLC player:
Sweet man, thanks a lot for the pictures and stuff. That is why I love these forums, you always get an answer. Thanks!

Please let us know if either of those players solve your problem. And if you find you like Media Player Classic you can download a codec for it called Real Alternative which allows the player to handle Real media files and you can then trash the Real Player.
It worked, I can change the aspect ratio. But, the videos I downloaded from Adult DVD Empire won't play on VLC, and they are Windows Media Audio/Video file format, but everything else plays. Any suggestions.
That's weird. MPC plays just about everything. It sounds like you're missing a codec or something. Search for a package (which also contains MPC) called "Real Alternative". It plays almost everything. You can also get an add on (or something) for it to play FLV files. Edited by - randomprecision on 5/28/2008 6:27:01 PM

Shmenges Last Polka. I actually own a few copies of this wonderful film. I got them in the mid 90's when a neat video/record shop here in Toronto called "Incredible!" was located upstairs on the south west corner of Yonge/Bloor. Neech, if you are interested let me know and I can make something happen. I believe you have my email. Clicky [Link]
In WMP you can click Tools>Options>Devices> then double click display and adjust slider to around .770 or so and apply. restart video and the aspect ratio should be correct. Edited by - liloleme on 6/2/2008 1:30:42 PM
