I don't care if you do it once, twice or ten thousand times. And it doesn't take much pressure in that area to cause this to happen. Make no mistake about it - each and every time that someone is choked or denied air in any way, for any length of time, there is damage done to their brain, lungs and heart. And every time that anyone does breath play, they must be aware that they could die that time. Every person is different. Some may die the first time that they try breath play. For some it is a cumulative thing, and the problem is that you will not know which time it is going to be that finally kills you. It's like playing Russian Roulette. There is absolutely no SAFE way to do breath play as in choking, gagging, garrotting, gas masks, suffocation, huffing, plastic bags or anything other method. Even using pure oxygen to cause one's body to overload and ultimately asphyxiate is not safe in any way. Will people still do it? Yes. But each and every one that practices asphyxiation in any form, needs to be aware that they will die from doing it. Not "might"... will die from doing it. I believe that our industry needs to set a standard where all performers that are considering a scene where breath play is involved, should be made to read over and sign an agreement that simply states, "By agreeing to be choked/gagged/in any way deprived air in this scene, I understand and agree that I am accepting imminent death and I consensually agree to let someone else/myself murder me on this set." It needs to be in big, bold letters. As was mentioned in an earlier post - those that have done breath play and found out too late that it kills people are called murders.
