So, from a legal and privacy standpoint, makes no sense to ban pics that hv been willfully posted on the internet for public consumption. The rule you are invoking isn't based on realistic social media privacy standards. You know it, I know it and many posters on here know it. It is a rule you uphold simply by having the right to do so not because you can disprove the reasoning or rationale of the points I raise. [Link]

What you said about there being nothing illegal about posting pictures from the social media profiles of retired performers who don't want to be associated with their past lives is probably correct. But just because something is legal doesn't make it ethical or right. It would also be legal for users here to insult performers they don't like, go on racist tirades, or be assholes to other members on the forum. But those things are forbidden on the site because we're trying to keep this a friendly community. And that friendliness extends to performers, whether they are active or inactive. If a retired performer has decided to make a clean-break with their past career and no longer wants to be associated with it, we respect that decision. It's not our place to put those people on blast. If you really want to do that, I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to find sites that cater to that sort of thing. The internet is a big place. But in our little corner of it we like to maintain a basic level of respect for porn performers. If it wasn't for them, none of us would be here after all. Hope that clarified things for you. [Link]

And after reading the direct response to my second post, I certainly have a clearer understanding. However, the one assumption by Mister Fahrenheit I disagree with is that all former porn stars who don't want to be part of their former porn life are against the sharing of their public pics. Many who want nothing to do with their past life are at peace with the fact that it is a history they will never escape. Conversely, some are not at peace with their past and don't want to be recognized or acknowledged. These type of people usually fake their deaths, disappear, refrain from social media or put high privacy blocks on their accounts. Obviously, violating the privacy of such people would not be something I would advocate. But not everyone falls in to this category. But I guess there wld be a fine line in determining which pic is not a violation and which is. So, on that basis I understand the blanket ban.
