One tip:
Before running CCleaner, click on "Options" in the upper right of the CCleaner window and protect any cookies you want to keep. This is easy to do :)

You can also clear the list automatically every time Windows exits by using TweakUI (part of PowerToys for Windows XP) - get it here, install it, open it, choose Explorer, check Clear document history on exit , click Apply.
