I got "Justine" the Andrew Blake film on dvd and Side 1 will not play, my player tries to load it and just keeps on spinning never really loading it. Side 2 plays fine. I sent it back to Xrent and they say it plays fine in their players. This is the only disc that has refused to play for me. Anyone have any clues on discs that have compatibility problems? Should I still ask Xrent for another disc?

Hi rt, you might want to try adjust how the disc is seated in the tray. I know it sounds strange, but I have had the same trouble with a few of my DVDs - they'll spin for a while, then my player tells me there is no disc. However, by adjusting how it is seated in the player (slide it around in the tray a little) I have always been able to get the disc to play. I hope this works for you.

I've had this problem too but it wasn't for the reason that boanerge mentioned. As you mentioned, it just might be a compatibilty issue with the particular DVD player that you are using. I own a couple of DVD players. I've played a couple of DVD's that were not able to load or be read on one player but were able to be played on the other unit. The two DVD players that I own are different brands so I guess it's just the way the laser on a particular unit reads the disc. I know it sounds strange. ALL DVD players should be able to play/read ANY disc as long as it's in the same region but from my experience, this hasn't been the case.
