When you post replies on this board, how do you get to cut and paste a certain portion of someone else's posting, with the two horizontal lines?

Once you are logged into the forum, you'll see a row of icons at the top of every post. Click the one that looks like this:

Hey Assluvr, this will probably be moved to WN&N, but here's the answer to your question.

To quote another person in a post with the horizontal lines you mentioned you can click on the "Reply with Quote" icon (which is the twisty arrow icon that is grouped with the other icons to the right of each posters name) on the post you want to quote. This will set it up for you to type a reply to that post while quoting it. To do it manually, you use the following syntax:

[ quote ]
Some Guy Wrote:

Whatever stuff you're trying to quote and reply to.

Some Guy
[ /quote ]

Then type your reply below that. When you actually do it, though, you must omit the spaces between the bracket and the "quote" and "/quote".

Try it out. You might have to edit a few times to get it right, but you'll get the hang of it in no time.
