Luke Ford's Wanker Wang has the scoop on what he says is the demise of Extreme Associates. If really true, this adds fuel to speculations that Red Light District Video might be getting the Icon Tom Byron (and/or distribution rights to Extreme Associates' movie catalog?).
Wanker Wang reports the following story on Luke Ford.
Heady stuff.

I dunno... I´ve been reading about Extreme soon-to-be-coming demise back when the REAL Luke Ford was still taking care of lukeford.com.

Where is Tom anyway? He came on here several times the back end of last year. Not heard of him since. Rump.
True, Planet, but look at all that's transpired since then. Look at everything that Wanker Wang just wrote. Remember, Wanker Wang actually worked at Extreme Associates and has direct ties there (unlike the original Luke Ford).
Personally, I think it's a completely different situation this time. True, even Wanker Wang stopped short of actually saying that it was official. But in light of everything he just reported, it would be very difficult for any company to come back from such a low ebb. If I were a betting man, I certainly wouldn't bet on it.
Can anybody name Extreme's last 5 new releases and comment favorably on them? Much as I enjoy Tom's Whack Attack series I'm not surprised if they're folding.

With Extreme´s death, does that means Armageddon will go kaput as well?
Wanker should know better than anyone. If you go to the Extreme site, they are advertising in their "latest news" movies that are years old. Profiling directors that left a long time ago (only a couple of months ago they were slagging all over Michael Stefano aka Luciano and just a couple of weeks ago he's on on Exterme's home page as a featured director and they are trying to sell his movies. They have not released a new movie in months. All of their latest releases have been comps (The Lex comp being an example of this). Nobody will shoot scenes for them as they are afraid they won't get paid. The dvd's are among the worst in quality on the market. The Wrestling nonsense ruined this company, and they are paying for it now.
Carly at Pornblography just received a blistering anonymous e-mail that dovetails nicely with Wanker Wang's semi-eulogy of Extreme Associates (although it's readily apparent that this anonymous e-mail was not sent by the Wanker himself).
Here's a copy and paste of the anonymous e-mail with a preface from Carly:
one of the first pornos i saw was an extreme teen video. It was pretty good, mainly because it was one of the early ones. Since then i would still check out the covers of Extreme teen videos, hoping to see the kind of talent i saw the first time, like april flowers and some other cute girls whose names i dont know. But time after time the talent just got worse, with a couple of bright spots. But it seemed like they gave up. The more they tried the worse it got, but i at least figure Extreme porno bootcamp would salvage the company. But since they wont sell it in stores...you cant sell what you dont have. its a shame.

Somebody break out the trumpet. I think Extreme is dead! Tom Byron's movies were the only thing the studio would make that was worth watching anyway. I hope the Icon goes somewhere else eventually. Extreme is the Titanic of the adult film business.
I'm actually surprised that they are still in business but I knew they were going down after they fired Van "The Man" Damage and Tiffany Mynx years ago. Van is one of the best director in the industry and Tiffany one of the hottest startlet so it was the most stupid thing Black could do.
I hope Rod Fontano will find a new company for his foot-fetish movies because I love his work, if Extreme is really going down that is.
I just remembered reading a recent interview of Thomas Zupko that he gave shortly after he departed Extreme Associates. He commented that the biggest mistake, from a business standpoint, that Extreme Associates made was when they started that big feud with Adult Video News. He said that feud ended up completely cutting Extreme Associates off from the industry's dominant advertising source. And of course, all businesses have to continually advertise effectively to keep the dollars rolling in. Say what you will about AVN, they do provide wide exposure for advertising purposes.
Absolutely, the war with AVN hurt them big time. A lot of distributors and store owners read it or at least flip through it to get an idea of what's hot, what's being advertised etc. When they first started out, they had 7 pages of ads at the front of AVN alone, not to mention the ads through the rest of the mag. Cutting themselves off from that exposure didn't help them one bit.
Sorry to hear that, Kelly. Apparently, you're in good company. Wanker Wang's report makes it clear that a lot of good people who worked for Extreme Associates got shafted out of money owed them. That's truly sad.

A looong time ago, I said how much I hated Robert Black.
That´s old news now and I left all that hate behind. But somehow, deep inside the darker realms of my twisted soul, the news about Extreme demise makes me feel all fuzzy and warm inside. Tee hee.
