I use as a reference, two scenes with Maria Ozawa, although the post is not about her. They took place in some sort of bath house where the girl giving the massage used liberal amounts of some kind of "slime" from a bucket, as a lube.

I only have a hunch that the stuff is a sea weed product of some sort. In one video I saw, the girl must have ingested at least two cups of it. Not somthing one would want to do with glycerin water base lubes we have in US.
ninja1, in the context I'd say it was normal for massage use; they looked like they were used to it, and how to get it just where they wanted it.

From what I understand they use methyl cellulose.
It is a hydrophilic white powder in pure form and dissolves in cold (but not in hot) water, forming a clear viscous solution or gel.
They don't use it as much as they used to.

No it's called nuru nuru lotion and it's derived from nori seaweed. So it's quite edible, which is why you see the girls readily licking the bodies of the guys when covered with it.
I don't like those films. The girls are just soaked in that shit and what happens is their partners can't hold them or get a grip. It makes the sex a slippery mess and just hard work for the performers.

^I'd rather stick a fork into my eye than see any more of these ridiculously poor adaptations of Japanese porn phenomena. It's about as fun as seizing all pulmonary activity immediately. As if that wasn't enough, there are reasons why the vast majority of massage-themed Japanese movies use only girls. Reasons that I wouldn't think a Western pornographer would recognize if I used them to stab him in the knee.
