Sometimes, a new pornstar will come on the scene, and her early looks and performances will be great, then they'll get worse. Other pornstars will start off slow, then get much better as they get more experience. Pornstars performance and looks get worse from my observations when they get a contract, get a boob job, do only lesbian scenes, lose weight. A few whose scenes got worse I think include Tera Patrick, Tegan, Inari Vachs. A few whose scenes got better include Sabrine Maui, Haley Paige, Lisa Sparxxx. Who are your nominations?
For me Trina Michaels got better and better. I mean she alredy looked fantastic with the blonde hair when she first started but when she went with the darker hair then I was really sold!
Flower Tucci. Did very little work when she first started eventhough I was hooked the very first time I saw her doing internet work for WestCoatGangBangTeam and Tony'sCastingCouch. Those were her very early work and now she's one of the best girls in the industry. I would say she got better and better also.
Shanna McCollough. I was never a fan of hers in the 80's but when she made her comeback in the 90's I just couldn't believe how perfect she looked especially with that awesome big butt. I was and I'm still very upset she retired so soon again!
Cindy Crawford. Never paid any attention to her when she was an IR-dodger but now she's turning up in a lot of IR titles and it's great to see that so yes she got better.
Ariana Jollee. She looked very hot from the beginning but I never bought the titles she was in until she decided to do interracial so she also got better.
Of course it can work the other side, I mean I don't have to write the tragic story of Naomi again :-( Melissa Lauren also went downhill for me. I use to be a huge fan. She was awesome when she first started but then she went dark hair which I really didn't like and then she went girl/girl and now she's with some company that is known for it's softer couples-appeal kind of movies.
I guess all girls that go through weight loss are a worse case scenario for me.
i really lost interest in sunrise adams after she stopped doing gonzo and got a boob job and became a vivid girl.....i dont care about anal or swallowing or any of that stuff, but her looks & performances were much more natural and interesting durin her first 2 years in the business...

Interesting that Ramsey's only rationale behind explaining Ariana Jollee and Cindy Crawford's improvement in his eyes is the fact that they decided to do interracial scenes. No concrete or solid evidence of anything actually performance-based, just the color of the skin of the men they decided to work with automatically made them better in his eyes. Gimme a break. It's not that interesting, I just don't like girls with certain limits so when they don't have those limits they become better pornstars in my opinion and I can buy their movies.Ever thought I might be black also and I want to relate to the porn I'm watching?
Maybe it's not something I consider so much a "limitation" as I do a personal choice. Someone who is a lame screw doesn't magically become a better talent because they decide to screw someone of a different race. I can't think of any pornstars who actually got worse but I can think of more than a few who have remained mind-numbingly and heart-breakingly stagnant...

Sara Stone started out stellar, and then after she went blonde she looked cracked out and dazed in all her scenes. She became too over the top and soon left the biz. Hope she is well.
Missy Monroe was the opposite. I didn't really care for her early scenes. As she progressed, she became exactly what any self-abusing porn consumer could want, a sexy strumpet with no hangups about hardcore sex.
i would like to suggest sophia young. her first movie didn't impress me at all, and i saw her in a 3sum and from then on i can't stop looking for her. someone who has went downhill i'd say is paulina james. i loved watching her at first and now it all seems fake with her.
I think Hanna Harper has improved tremendously since she first came on to the scene. For some posters here a contract is seen as the point where a pornstar thinks they have made it and begins the slide down but in Hanna's case I really think her contracts have been the making of her. Sure she doesn't look as innocent as when she was a newbie but her performances were far better,and more confident and even her boob jobs, I thought only improved her stunning looks.
She doesn't seem to work as much nowdays but I still look forward to watching any work she brings out.
All female porn stars have got a shelf life because the majority of fans like them young and attractive. Like with anything people become disillusioned. I honestly think if you are doing it purely for the money you are in the wrong job because that attitude shows in a scene. One person who has really improved though is Tiffany Minx for me. Never liked her when she was first on the scene now I really enjoy her.

This is a subjective question, and the answers are as numerous as the fans (plus Kurt Lockwood) that reply.
My answer is
IMO, Porn performers who are "getting better" are doing so because they are still "exploring" and haven't reached their "peak" level of performance. So, up & comers are the group that will still "improve." On the other hand, established stars remain at their individual level of performance that reflects their personal sexual comfort zone and willingness to expose themselves.
Jenna Jameson and Tera Patrick are the best examples of performers who have peaked--because they have found their personal level of what they will do in a video--and are no longer breaking new ground in their work. Also, I would add, Jana Cova, Stormy, Carmen Luvana, Nicole Sheridan, Sunset Thomas, Teagan, Savanna Samson, and Jesse Jane, and many, many, many, many others.
Still on the "up" elevator, who are still exploring their sexuality, are performers like: Hillary Scott, Sasha Grey, Naomi (?), Monique Alexander, Stefani Morgan, Bree Olson and other newbies. They are still finding their limits and as they explore them, fans feel they are "getting better." This also explains why the industry demands a constant flow of new girls--who come into the biz and publicy explore their sexual limits.
Because I like to support existing performers as well as newbies, my approach is when I buy product of established performers I know their limits and my expectation is that they give the best performance, in each sexvid, within their own limits. If they do so, I'm happy...if they do not meet their own standards, then I'm not happy and I may stop buying their product.

You know CJ, it puzzles me why you continue to champion these girls who you know will not do IR (in this case, Harmony). Whatever - its their choice, but as a black man you should not continue singing their praises or help to promote their careers.
If you enjoy her scenes then do so silently. I still like to watch Tory Lane & Brooke Haven even though I know they probably won't cross the IR bridge. But you won't find me up here giving them free props -- no way.

I don't think that's the solution to your perceived "problem", to fight what you think is Harmony's "racism" with more of the same by pretending she doesn't exist (at least not publicly) until she does what YOU feel is right. I don't see color when I watch porn: I see good and bad. I watch and enjoy the good and try to ignore the bad as best I can. Harmony (and many other girls that don't do IR) is good in my book. Not doing me or men like me isn't a black mark against her, as far as I'm concerned.
I'm not promoting anyone; I'm not Harmony's agent but I will continue to sing the praises of whomever I like as long as I feel they deserve it, whether they screw guys the same race as me or not. In my opinion if you're against IR-dodgers you shouldn't be watching their scenes but that's me and that's what I do. Everybody else is free to do whatever they want. I'm not gonna dictate what others should or shouldn't do.

She was just a terrible porn actress. I was infatuated with her look as well, but she could be a real wood-killer.
Almost made me long for P.J. Sparxx's on-screen disinterest and lethargy. (At least in her boy-girl scenes.)
Lexi Cruz, the black porn actress was another one who never reached her full potential in porn.
Me and legions of other folks that I know of, were just dying to love her. She had a magnificent body, (if you like them thick), a cherubic face, and a winning smile. And we just kept begging the producers for her. She was younger and fresher than the other black actresses, most of whom were already established strippers when they came into porn, and had a kind of hard edge to them. And she did get used a lot a few years ago in the black porn circuit.
But she never really blew up the way she should have, cuz she just didn't deliver on-screen. Very little charisma and no sexual energy to her performances. A number of the directors used to sigh about how they just couldn't get good performances out of this girl. She was a pretty girl, but I just don't think her heart was ever really in it.
Lela Star is getting better for me. Mia Rose is getting worse. Saw her in Tunnel Vision 2 she was alright. Then Slut Puppies 2, not impressed. Finally Everhard's Anal Prostitutes on video 4 (great flick!) and her's was the only scene that I lost interest in. Sasha Grey is always great as is Veronica Da Souza.
I think Gianna blossomed into an incredible performer. When she started out I think her looks were her main strength, but now she is the total package and a star.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, two redbones that are slowly but surely improving are Aurora Jolie and Chavon Taylor.
I remember when early on I used to think there was nothing special about either Luci Thai or Cytherea. As months passed, they proved me wrong. Same thing with early Naomi; but once she started shooting "full-time" she really stepped up and finally started to actually earn all the fanboy adulation she was receiving.
I'll agree with you on Victoria Allure being in the same boat with Lexi Cruz, in general and to a point.
As much as I love Victoria, and I DO love her, her scenes don't exude a lot of heat either. Her looks make my mouth water, and I love watching her get fucked. I just wished she participated a little more enthusiastically.
But, Jack Napier and I had a discussion about both of them awhile back, and he reiterated what I had previously sensed about them.
He said that Victoria is EXTREMELY shy and soft-spoken, and for the longest time was very self-conscious in front of the camera. He went on to say that she is not very demonstative in her carriage on or off camera and is just an all around quiet girl. I don't know how or why someone with this personality profile would want to be an actress, much less a porn actress, but here she is.
This was not the case with Lexi. She does have a live personality, and can be very outgoing and the life of the party. I saw it at a couple of the WCP shindigs, where she seemed to be able to get as loud and crazy as the next girl. But that just didn't translate into her on screen sex scenes, where to me, it always looked like she wanted to be somewhere else.
Question for ya... So you don't think the reason the women you named have "peaked" is mostly because of the companies they're under contract for don't haven't "pushed" (for lack of a better term) them to go any further? For example you don't think if Tera Patrick, Jesse Jane, or Carmen Luvana did some movies for soemone under the Jules Jordan umberella of directors or the EVIL ANGEL umberella of directors we'd see a much stronger/better performance from them? Do you think the director/company a girl is working for has a big impact on a pornstar's level of performace?
I have to say from what I've been hearing, Aurora Jolie aka Nicara/Nikara seems to be coming along nicely. I still LMAO when I hear the whole virgin thing, but hey. There's always something right. So Kudos to her for taking the time to learn, change, and take the action to jump start her career and get it on a possible Golden Path. Maybe to one day become as big as Marie Luv or Jada Fire. Who got better: -Jenna Haze (She was always an incredible performer, but since her return...everything she's touched turned to gold. Amazing performer. Let's not give Sasha a hard time she is only 18/19 years old. How many people who post on this site could do what she has done. I think if this girl stays in the industry she will be like a fine wine who gets better with age. I don't just mean from a performer point of view I mean from a director point of view as well. To me she has something special that has to be nurtured in the right direction. The Awakening of Sasha Grey will be her milestone. This has been delayed for a reason. Her face is so unusual and unique something you do not see very often in porn. She is also a Jean Luc Goddard fan nuff said.
Not to give you a hard time Arin but Jenna Haze has always been amazing. I don't think she's gotten any better at all. She was on a extremely high level earlier in her career(Up and Cummers, Trained Teens, etc) and has maintained it even still. That is a level most girls have a hard time reaching. She has stayed very consistent through the years in her performance standards, while at the same time offering something new and fresh as well. Variety. As for Stefani Morgan. Stefani and Nasty is not something I can see in the same sentence. I mean not to the degree of Hillary Scott, and Taryn Thomas etc, etc. While I do agree that she has gotten better. I wouldn't say it was or is because she is nasty or has gotten nastier. While I've only seen a few of her scenes, I can't recall her doing anything outside of what classifies as a "normal" sex scene. She has indeed gotten better and she is hot, but I would say she has gotten better from a performance standpoint.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. The thing that people on this forum don't understand is CONTOL. Bottom line, performers aren't always given the freedom to perform to THEIR own expectations. Unless you are on the inside you don't understand what really goes on behind the scenes. Take my Barely Legal Scene and compare it to Fuck Slaves. Big difference...control. Some people love one and hate the other. Opinions aren't facts, and people state these things with a veil of impunity. Some people prefer Ziggy Stardust and some people prefer The thin White Duke. Exploration is the unknown, you can't tell me- or other performers that they have more to explore. Unless of course you have a trunk full of degrees, which I still may question. I appreciate criticism but this is not constructive. To clear up one more thing: I said most porn was boring, not that it wasn't nasty enough.
