The blame lays on the producers for letting that shit fly. In any other profession there's a 0 tolerance to any form of sexual abuse, except for porn. Also most girls are afraid to 'No-list' people or to go public for fear of their livelihood.

A lot of people criticized Stoya for not laying charges against James and said he's 'innocent until proven guilty', but let me remind you that in court, it's impossible for a sex worker to prove rape. Even video evidence is not enough, as it can be discounted as 'being part of a scene'.

Similarly, there is that infamous Gianna/Steve Holmes scene where I believe both performers get annoyed after Holmes startles Gianna with a slap and she slaps him back in a way that shows she is clearly pissed off. There is a back and forth that ultimately resolves itself and the scene proceeds. Kind of an incredible moment.

Neither of these scenes felt abusive btw. For me they are fleeting dramas of silent communication and are the kind of thing that makes porn so engaging and unique.
